He should probably go to Montreal then...

i don't even know what that means. you're implying they suck? because i'm pretty sure that the 15th-place finish does a good enough job of that.

yep. so he could have stayed in Anaheim. lived there in-season, bought a nice cottage in the BC for the summers. at this point, he's not considering which city has more sushi restaurants and opera houses.

i get this feeling that he didnt get along well with someone in the anaheim system, whether it be player(s), coache(s), whatever it might be...not really much other reason for him to want out, that i can think of at least..

haha more sushi restaurants and opera houses...classic DD

Did it ever occur to you that it was simply a complement? Don't be so sensitive.

just being honest, Toronto would be ideal, but if it came down to playing somewhere because of the surroundings, LA would be awesome for a few years when i was in my lower 20's...

i grew up with andy mcdonald and he told me once that anaheim isnt really all its cracked up to be.. he had a single level home, tiny, with one bedroom with a porch... jammed into a multitude of homes and he siad it was worth close to a million.

its one of those places where the population density is a little insane i guess

Hes got years to do that...he needs to focus on establishing himself in the NHL and making an ACTUAL name for himself....go play with edmonton where you have tons of chance to be THAT guy, get the money...make them a stronger team and grow with them. He can do the Edmonton thing for 3-5 years then move elsewhere for bigger money if need be, or resign....that team will be filthy strong in 2-3 years.

fair enough. but an NHLer can afford a place in Santa Monica/Santa Barbara etc. i'd take that over the Canadian winter.

@noename09
Am thinking Schultz will sign with a Canadian team, although Toronto Ottawa Vancouver Calgary Edmonton and Montreal are likely favorites.

They're still a goalie and 3-4 dmen away from being competitive. Those things don't happen overnight.

My guess is that he'll be leaving just as they're getting competitive.

So dont bring in one piece at a time?

Bring in Schultz, sign him. Get yourself a solid defender/goalie through trade, as we all know they have TONS of offensive talent they can afford to move...and BOOM they are already almost there. Schultz is crazy if he doesnt see what Edmonton can offer him in 2-3 years.

believe you me...winters in the prairies SUCK....but at his age/experience level wouldnt you rather be on a team whos filled with young talent and getting better and better, than go on a team who may expect you to step in and be awesome right away...the guy has no NHL experience and people are talking about him like hes Drew Doughty seeking a new home??....I say 70% Edmonton, 20% Toronto (because of Gardiner) and 10% Other.

Interesting to note is Calgary really needs some extra skilled defenseman who are still young and they have money to spend. Feaster could throw some stupid money to try and entice him to play there just for the money alone....
