It's pretty sad that we might be missing some hockey again this year just because the NHL administration was too stupid not to blow their foot off after unilaterally deciding the terms of the last CBA.

Another lock-out would definitely kill what's left of hockey in the Southern US. It would certainly make the league look like the biggest joke in pro sports.

Even more pathetic is that the NHL is pretty much arguing against the revenue/salary model that they insisted they NEEDED to save hockey from those big, bad, greedy players.

I'm no economist, but trying to force Toronto, Phoenix, the Rangers, and Florida to have roughly equal salary budgets seems like it was doomed to fail from day one.
