The C is intended for your best locker room leader type. I like Pominville, but if he was a real captain he would give the C up to Doan.

I like Doan, a lot. I would probably buy his jersey if we signed him, even if it was a 1 year deal. He's a leader and a respected veteran player. But he's accomplished nothing. He has 1 more all star game than Pominville. He's won 2 good ol' boy awards.

I think Doan would fit on just about any team in the NHL. I think he would like to stay close to Phoenix if he does decide to leave. I think the East Coast teams come in play if Doan wants to take a shot at the cup on a 1 year deal and then return to Phoenix for the end of his career. Even in that case, I cant help think that Pitt would be the most desireable location.

Regehr should have an A IMO. I think everyone on the D looks up to him. Plus he had the A forever in Calgary. He and Doan define veteran leadership.

Also we finally got our hands on a prospect who could turn into an elite 1st line center. I would prefer we didnt trade him away 5 days after acquiring him.
