hazel and kopitar comparisons i get but zubrus is not offensive like grigo and zagrapan had attitude issues because he thought he knew everything and the people that tried to help him are employed in the nhl still and he is not, so i guess we know who knew what's up and who didn't.

he's probably not going to be the next malkin, but if he did, i would dance for joy, i'd be fine with the next hanzel, but if he's the next kopitar, i would be elated.

he's the next Grigo for now, and we'll see how we all feel about him in 4-5 years, right now i'm excited about him and have no reason not to be.

Malkin I think is more deserving. and he will probably get it next year when his current expires.

I just hope that guys brain doesn't turn into scrambled eggs.. Some times players really should have walked away before they actually did.. and I hope Crosby does not have to be put in that category 10 years down the road.

Wideman is a defenseman, his contract shouldn't weigh (way) in the Crosby one..

It will always hang over him but he did play in a pretty rough Flyers series and was in the epicenter for much of it and came out fine. Seeing the spine specialist was very beneficial to him as they caught some variables that were causing "concussions like symptoms". Time will tell, but all 30 teams are offering him that deal.

Awwww, 8.7 how cooool.

Cap hit may not be a raise, his salary certainly will. He will make 10M+ in his first 3 seasons. Final 2 years will be less than 4M. Details released yet?
