Surprised a bigger deal was not made of this. I'm not as high on Suter as some people are, but he would definitely upgrade our defense The only problem is, as Scoobs said that we'll have a log jam on the left side of our defense with Hamhuis and Edler.

IMO the first three guys you listed would be the best options.

Esposito for the Wolves/4th line

Espositio on our 4th line would make us an even softer team. Fehr is intruiging because of his size, speed and some skill but he's a soft player as well and not very good defensively. Barker was one of Edmonton's worst d-men, 'nuff said.

Barker hasn't won a cup! Was traded for Leddy prior to the 2010 Cup...

I don't think Tallon would allow himself to be fleeced that badly...I like Kesler (aside from his occassional embellishments which I'd like to see go away), but Gillis really isn't dealing Luongo from a position of strength to warrant that kind of return.

Gudbranson is a very good, young, physical defenseman, and you want to throw in two of their better prospects as well, with Weiss?

I think you'd have a better shot at signing Garrison than completing a trade like this...

I may be in the minority, but I actually liked Rome. He was a lot better over the last year and a half. For his price, I like what he brings. Without him getting suspended in the finals, I think we would have won. Having him out was the straw that broke the camels back.

If we've got someone better coming up, great. But at this point at least, I think Rome is a better all around player than Tanev.

So we replace all of our players from last year with rookies, Rome with Zanon and replace Lu with Biron? Unless those rookies are all performing like pros, that doesn't look like an improved lineup.

I'm not blaiming him I blame AV, Rome is an alright 6/7th d man but when AV puts him on the number one pairing and on the powerplay you cant help but facepalm.
