I get what you're saying but I mean, to use the look on a guy's face in junior competition after a goal when he was what? 18/19 years old? That just reeks of "I just don't like you no matter what you do!"
- JoeRussomanno

It's not that i don't like jvr, i just don't think he'll evolve into anything more than a 20 maybe low 30 goal player. If the leafs can get more than that out of him congrats. I think l. Schenn will be the better player going forward.

Trust me. Many will be complaining about Homer giving up on JvR the same way we already have with Gagne, Williams, Sharp, Carter and Richards. It will happen much quicker then you know. JvR's skills could not be more obvious and he's only had one season of major injuries, in which he played through.

Rest assured, whatever moves are made. If the Flyers don't win the Cup. We'll be right back here next year reading all of the complaints.

We need to get a Goalie! Why'd we sign that Goalie!

We need a #1 defenseman! Why'd they make that trade for Pronger!

I love the return Holmgren got for Richards and Carter! Holmgren has no patience and needs to keep the drafted players.

Bi polar!

Out of those players maybe they gave up on williams, can't remeber that trade, but the others weren't giving up. Gagne made too much money for being injured all the time, still is. Sharp was moved so he could play some where else, hitchcock didn't like him, clarke did him a favor. Carter i would've traded for just the 8th pick. I wouldn't have dealt richards but the return was great and giroux was ready to take over the team.

One thing we all can agree on as Flyers fans...we all want to win the cup. I know we all have our opinions on how to do that and really there are many ways to build a team. In the end we all bleed O&B and want to see this team finally break through and win a cup.

Williams was traded for Danny Markov when the Flyers had a bunch of injuries on defense for a playoff run.

Yea, I guess the Flyers are the only team who makes moves, and makes trades to improve their team. You act like the Flyers don't have direction and are just spitting in the wind. That Holmgren just closes his eyes and throws a dart on a dart board to decide what moves he makes. Give me a break! Seriously.

You complain about the moves when they do , such as above with the Pronger move, and the move for Bryzgalov. And you complain when they don't make the moves you want them to make.

Your complaining that the Flyers didn't trade JVR for a #1 defenseman, and complaining that they did make a trade for Pronger. Which is it?

- MJL

iow, you can't address the salient point that the flyers do not have a consistent org philosophy like the teams that I specifically mentioned. and how can you? you have said as much yourself, as have buts, jsaq, brad and a whole host of other posters here for the last 4-5 yrs. because in that time, homer has radically changed course more than most other GMs so he can be good enuf to be a contender, but likely, never more...because its hard to stay a course that's always changing.

most cups are won by orgs that identify what type of game they want to play, draft players based on that philosophy and decide what core players are to be part of the process going forward. they resist the temptation to radically make changes in their core unless its clear that it cant work and certainly don't give into expediency with younger plyrs.

if I have a complaint - and it's as much an observation- its this general point. the specifics only support that observation.
