He is just coming off a long contract at $4.55MM - that's is achievable. The only problem is that he wants a 4yr contract. Maybe sweeten it for a 3yr contract. (after 3yrs - Ryan becomes a UFA and replaces him). Jagr was $3.3MM and send Shelley's $1.1MM down the AHL, that's just $150k difference.

We have young guys: Giroux, the Schenns, Couturier, Read, Voracek, Simmonds, etc. I think we could use some more veteran presence. The youth movement was part of the reason they failed against NJ.

We have young guys: Giroux, the Schenns, Couturier, Read, Voracek, Simmonds, etc. I think we could use some more veteran presence. The youth movement was part of the reason they failed against NJ.

no i think it was Lavys system that failed them against the Devils....The devils adapted their game to play like the rangers.....flyers did not adapt and lavy did nothinng to tweek.

We did well with the Lappy and Knubles of the world. A couple of these and I will be happy.

I don't think that's necessarily true. The Flyers were winning zero puck battles most of the time. No system can succeed when you don't win puck battles. Injuries killed the team too.

Definitely. People thing the big splashes are what wins a Cup. That's simply not true. A lot of the little moves can make all the difference in the playoffs.

Knuble was a 34 goal 65 point player for the Flyers. I'd kill to have the Knuble of 05-06 back.

i agree but its looking like if your a veteran you come to philly get overpaid long contract and only play 2 years get injured and then play out the rest of your contract on the IR...We have such bad luck!
