Everyone wants to pay Ryan almost three million more than Voracek when Voracek, who is 2 years younger, could develop into a strong offense player in his own right. 50 points last year wasn't bad an I think he got better as the year wore on. We can have him cheaper and not have to lose any assets or him.

Voracek averaged a pt per game for the last 15 gms of the season and into the playoffs (Ryan, not quite at that pace)... |

One interesting question that I thought of, say by some miracle, Lindros makes it into the HHOF in the next year or two. Does Schnider allow his number to be retired? With Mark Howe, he said if he's good enough for the HOF, he's good enough to have his number retired by the Flyers.. - Hextall271
I think absolutely the Flyers retire his number if he goes in the HHOF.

Why not. It's not like anybody is going to be requesting #88 any time soon anyway.
And if Bure got in, then Lindros definitely should. |

The thing with Parise is that I seriously doubt he goes to any team in the Atlantic division. I have nothing to base that on. It is just an opinion.

I heard that rumor on Comcast Sportsnet that Parise is a class guy and well respected and if he leave NJ he wont go in the Atlantic Division. However, money talks. |

I hope so.. what a moment that would be. I can't see anyone ever wearing that # in orange and black ever again. I wonder if Kane would have been allowed to don it had he been selected #1 in the 07 draft? |

I would hope. By the way, it's time to raise Adam Oates' number 77 in to the rafters of the Farg! |

I don't understand that.
If he respects NJ so much, why not take a serious home town discount and just stay? |

I would rather keep Voracek and Mez and pick up Doan. That would give them a well balanced set of forwards both offensively and defensively plus a great group of defensemen. Better team D will help Bryz too. |

I think he still would like to be paid out of respect but NJ having financial issues. So if he leaves he would consider leaving the Atlantic Division bc he respects Big Lou. Just what I heard on Comcast. |

I didn't realize Gostisbehre was that tall. 5'11 isn't terrible, but he obviously needs gain some serious weight. He's likely at least two years away from the Phantoms, but who knows. If he packs on some serious weight over the course of the next year, he could leave if he's ready.
I saw some Union games this year. He kind of reminds me of Toby Enstrom. He's not terrible defensively either. I think we got a steal here at #3 personally. Im very intrigued to track his development and see how he does this year. |

I think he'll want somewhere in the $4m range. It's the years that worry me. 1 or 2 is optimal. 3 is stretching it. 4 is too long. |
