Last time i checked i dont thing you sign voracek @ 2.1.....i think he gets @ around 3.5. For 1.6 mill to have a proven sniper on the first line yeah i would do it. Voracek unfortunately is a pure playmaker not a sniper.....

I don't see him getting 3.5.

Hartnell credited his increase in production to being in better shape thanks to jager. Of course Giroux helped but no one seems to consider other factors. It's just all Giroux.
- funmaster18

He also was able to put his personal problems behind him and get back to where he was in 08-09... it's not like he was some bum until he got on a line with Giroux.

The point is, Giroux is a great playmaker, but the marginal difference (if it exists) between him and Getzlaf isn't going to guarantee Bobby Ryan will increase his goal output significantly -- it's not something you can take to the bank.

they've been here one year, passed the 100 point mark as a team, and just ran into team defense issues in the playoffs. Now the team isn't good enough? They will only get better.
- funmaster18

I will put our offense up against NJ any day of the week. Yes we did lose to them, but I think our team has way more potential than NJ. LA is a different animal though...

Round 7 - Valeri Vasiliev, Philadelphia Flyers

Valeri Vasiliev is an animal. He can crush people and plays with a fearlessness we often associate with players who haven't existed since helmet rules came into place. Does that sound like a Flyer or what? He did not get near enough exposure and could have been a second-rounder had he played more games in front of more NHL scouts. Honorable mentions in the seventh round go to Columbus with Gianluca Curcuruto and Los Angeles with Nick Ebert.

It did, but a million and a half more? I see a fair deal coming for 1 year that is more in the flyers favor and then decide after the season if he should get a good raise.

I see our fourth line as

Rinaldo - Talbot - Wellwood.

Sophomore jinx and for those who don't want ryan, I feel voracek will have to be on the first line, when he's a second line player.

Exactly. Who wanted Ryan before he said anything about a trade? Probably a fraction of those willing to over pay for him now.

I did, but I preferred Nash or Weber at the time. Those guys aren't in play anymore for us.

If they added Jagr back, and also added a 4th line center -- allowing Talbot to play the wing on the 4th line, i'd be fine with that.

Just not a fan of Talbot at center. I think the need is there for a good faceoff %/PK guy in that role. Talbot only fills one of those needs.

Is he the son of the V.Vasiliev that played for Russia against the Flyers in the Summit series?

It's not about that. It's about pairing Giroux with a front-line winger to take some pressure off of him. Defenses are going to be keying in on him more and more now, and I think he'll take a small step back next year if we don't add a guy like Ryan/Parise to pair with him.

It doesn't hurt to add more goals either, especially since our D is basically set.

The Flyers MUST add another center that can win face-offs and kill penalties IMO.

McClement or Moore please.
