Why isnt voracek signing his contract yet? does he want a lot more money? - Philly1980
Maybe the flyers are weighing options? It's not always the players fault a deal hasn't been signed. |

It might just be that some combination of he, his agent, and Holmgren have not met to discuss it yet. |

play maker sets up plays....sniper finishes them...Is briere not more of a finisher than a playmaker? - Philly1980
Playmakers can create something out of nothing on their own, whether that ends up as an a scoring chance for themselves or somebody else. Sure, Adam Oates/Joe Thornton are playmakers, but so are guys like Crosby and Datsyuk that do more than just dish the puck to open guys. |

I think you're misrepresenting the way in which people are valuing Voracek as well. I suppose that makes this a 'pile on' post, but I kind of resent the notion - BulliesPhan87
Okay. Don't see where I am pushing Ryan on anyone when I stated to go after Doan. People's feelings are hurt over Voracek, I apologize. |

And sometimes players can't be easily categorized like in a video game. |

The water has been disturbed. All I know at this point is I would not trade Voracek and Meszaros for Ryan. Not even close to thinking about it. |

not too concerned about Sestito's status, tbh. not sure he'd get claimed, or if I'd care if he did. - bradleyc4
i'd probably agree with that as well
he'll have a chance to take shelley's spot in camp. if he can't, waivers don't really matter |

I'd much rather have Sestito as the go-to tough guy over Shelley |

Well he has to be counted. And either way it doesn't add up to 10M of Cap space for the Flyers. - MJL
they can go over by 7 million before the season starts and before the start of game one pronger will go on the LTIR..... |

I don't understand why people are taking trade proposals and such so personally, but I think a lot of it is pointless until free agency opens anyway. I think the flyers are wise to hold off any trades until they see what happens after July 1st. Depending on what happens a whole new group of potential trade targets may be available. |

Bobby ryans shooting percentage last year was 15.2 percent.
30 goals - 197 shots
40 goals - 263 shots
50 goals - 328 shots
jagr had 170 shots in in 73 games.... i think bobby ryan is easily a 40 goal scorer next to giroux.
Also was a +1 this year....not bad considering perry was -7 and getz was -11
Comapre to voracek 9.5
30-goals -315 shots
40 goals - 421 shots
50 goals - 520 shots |

maybe...he's cheaper and younger. at least you know what you're getting with shelley, and i'm ok with him as the 13th forward. sestito is still a bit of a question |

hey bill,
do you have any idea of the kind of return dallas would be seeking for steve ott? my apologies if you answered this in another thread.... - FlyerMike18
Probably a good young NHL roster player and a higher-end (but not first-round) pick would do it depending on main piece.

the dude from puck daddy just said on Sirius that he was told by various GM's that they think July is going to be a massive month for trades |

I would consider it but a lot would depend on what happens July 1st. I would rather deal Voracek and Bourdon for Ryan. |

I'd like to see them bring Jagr back for another season and sign a defenseman or two (preferabally Suter and/or Garrison/Carle). That way Voracek and Coburn could be used as trade bait. Maybe bring in a Dominic Moore, Travis Moen, Arnott, Langenbrunner or Ponikarosky to fill out the fourth line holes. That way even if they overpaid for Bobby Ryan, it wouldn't be so bad. Even if they sent Coburn, Bourdon and Voracek the other way, they would still have a great lineup.

I wasn't trying to say anything about you 'pushing Ryan'. I'm just not exactly enthused at the sentiment I'm inferring from statements such as "hurt feelings over Voracek" and "treating him like he's untouchable". Maybe I'm misinterpreting here. |

I'm well aware of that. Regardless, they don't have 10M to spend. |
