its Toronto, he was a leaf, holds the leaf franchise record for all time points
his olympic and world champs teams could of finished in 20th place and he still would be in - wingz4life
What ever happened with the rumors that Parise was looking towards the Penguins in hope it would secure the Cup next year?
As per the Shannahan convo: I'm still bitter he didn't suspend Weber for that sh*t he did to Zetterberg. I wonder how different the playoffs may have gone if Weber was out for a couple..

So had he played with the Marlies he would still be there...interesting!!!! - Nolanders
Now you're just being silly. There are players who played primarily in the USSR who made the hall primarily on non NHL play. The point is moot however, Sundin's NHL resume speaks for itself even without the gold medal.

not much different, the kings were possessed, no one was going to beat them
it should have been a suspension but i guess zetterberg didnt sell it enough
In bizarro universe, where Sundin played for the Red Wings and Shanahan played for the Leafs, Shanahan has 0 cups and Sundin probably has at least a couple.
Blaming Sundin for never having won anything is silly. The man played at above .90 ppg for 16 straight years -- all but his rookie year and his final year. He led the Leafs in scoring every single season he played there.
His worst full, non-lockout-shortened point total with the Leafs in 12 seasons was 72 points. To put that in perspective, over the same stretch (1995-2008) the only other Leafs to score at least that many were Mogilny once (79), Thomas once (73) and Gilmour once (72).
The reason Sundin never won a Stanley Cup isn't because he isn't a "winner." He never won a Stanley Cup because it's a 30-team league and the Leafs had no one to play with him. - Sven22
Agreed. The best winger he ever had was probably Mogilny, but that was him past his prime. I wish Sundin did a better job at speaking up and maybe they could've gotten him a superstar winger to play with.

And yet in their respective primes, Roenick outscored Bure.
Weird.
Again, any player will look amazing when you only consider their first 12 years, which will typically be their best by far. - Leeman4Gilmour
Why is Cam Neely in the Hall of Fame then if you need more than 12 years?
In my hall there is Bure, Neely, and Shanahan. Roenick, I'm not sold on. Just a personal opinion. I don't think Clark Gillies would be in either.
