Call me crazy but, if he'd do it, I'd definitely sign Jagr for a year or two to play RW for Tavares. |

The #Isles have officially named Brent Thompson an assistant coach for the #NHL club
Nothing shocking but I just felt like you all missed me. |

May not have been the way I would have done it, but we probably around doubled our defensive prospect pool in terms of depth/quality. I'm pretty happy. |

honestly im as happy with it just as happy as i was for every other draft....IE i believe these guys (scouts) know plenty more than i do about the prospects and ill wait and see how it turns out...
....in unrelated news, Eklund has the isles as potential trade partners with the devils for Kovy..... |

Not that I believe a shred of anything Eklund has ever said, but hypothetically speaking...I'd offer them Matt Donovan and a 3rd round pick. That contract is atrocious and isn't worth taking on unless we're giving up peanuts. I'm not even sure I'd want to give them Donovan for that. |

He also said the iSlanders are in selling mode too...also how can a team in or near bankruptcy sign Parise for $8 million a year? |

Good question...below is what he wrote:
The Wild are going to make a splash and if not Parise why not Ilya? The Red Wings have all sorts of money and NEVER shy away from getting top, elite talent. The Canadiens have a need to get a star player on board, but taxes would take a big chunk from Kovalchuk's salary...however it could possibly be made up for in endorsement revenue...(interesting dilemma here..If Molson were to pay Kovy an endorsement contract to make up for lost money in taxes, would that be circumventing the CBA? And would the Islanders, who have really looked to be a team setting themselves up to sell, take on such a contract?[ |

How does a team 15 million + under the cap floor be considered sellers???? |

Put in that context, that is such a stupid thing to write (not you, eklund). We need to sign players and make the salary cap floor, there's nothing to sell. |

Wideman off the market, Flames traded for his rights and signed him. Re-signed Comeau too. Not that anyone really cares about Comeau. |

Super weird feeling that since Wideman is in CGY and they're likely going to off-load JBo...to us. Maybe they want their 5th round pick back from the Wideman deal. |

At the right price, I'd jump on it. 5th round alone may be a little low but I'm not overpaying for a pretty decent defenseman with a $6.68m cap hit. |

I can't see him waiving his NTC to come here. They'll sign his brother Billy Bouwmeester out of the NSL.. Nigeria Super League |

My buddy from Calgary called me today.. He said that up in Canada there was big talk that Snow had a deal in place to land Loungo but Loungo squashed it and now has only waived his NTC to Florida...
Anyone hear anything about or remotely about this?? I can't find anything. |
