Nothing special, but a couple guys that stood out for their schools/teams.

Adam Berkle 6'3 184 Bowling Green St. (NCAA) 44 7 14 21 In his first season at Bowling Green St., Berkle ranked fourth on the team with 21 points and second with 14 assists.

Andrew Calof 5'10 166 Princeton (NCAA) 32 9 24 33 In his second season at Princeton, Calof led his team in goals, assists and points. He has 64 points (26 goals, 38 assists) in 64 NCAA games.

Max MacKay 6'1 194 Walpole (AtJHL) 29 25 37 62 Posted over two points-per-game for the second straight season with Walpole and is commited to Providence College in 2012-13.

Michael Pereira 5'10 176 UMass-Amherst (NCAA) 35 17 17 34 In his second season with UMass-Amherst, Pereira's 17 goals led the team, while his 34 points were good for third on the roster.

All I am asking for is to sign a good defenseman and an offensive sniper. Let's get Shea Weber, Justin Schultz and Ryan!
- ISLES1119

I gree with you on what the Islanders needs are. Forget Weber...I think the big boys are going to have a bidding war for him. I can see Weber making more than Ehrhoff. Justin Schultz would be a good fit but from what I read from another post he can be offered the same amount of money from all the teams, so basically he can pick where he wants to play. He is from Western Canada, so I guess Vancouver or Edmonton seems to be the logical choice. Bobby Ryan in my opinion is the perfect fit. He is from the East Coast (Cherry Hill,NJ), he still has 4 years left on his contract at a good price ($5 milion) and he would be a fixture on the top line. But to get him, you'll have to pay a steep price. It seems many of you would rather just keep the prospects and hope they pan out. I respect you all for that opinion but I think it's time to make a statement and getting Bobby Ryan would do that. Don't beat me up...just my opinion...

Just a note that not too many would probably agree with, but I said I think the forward needs this offseason are a sniper, power forward with hands, and gritty heart and soul player...Alex Semin and Prust fill two of those three needs, and seem like they could be had on July 1 if the right offers are made quickly enough (for both, I'd rather go higher dollars and fewer years, but I don't know if Wang is willing to throw money around even on short-term contracts). I think both will be post-July 1 options for other teams who might spend the first day of free agency pursuing the biggest fish in the pond. So it's possible the Isles could sneak in and grab them both while others are falling over themselves bidding for Parise and trying to trade for Ryan and Nash.

I know the issue with Semin is lack of heart, which is why this will probably be an unpopular idea. But firing that crazy wrister while Tavares does most of the work down low...if things break right, it could be a fairly deadly duo, with Moulson there to bang in any garbage left in front. I guess signing that guy could turn into a total disaster just as easily. I just don't see too many other snipers available.

That post was incorrect, he will be an unrestricted free agent which means we (or any team) could offer him all the money in the world, if we/they so desired. The salary/performance bonus/signing bonus parameters are only for entry level contracts.

I'd love to sign Semin. I know the knocks on him and I don't think it's so much a lack of heart but more that he's inconsistent. He'd be a bit of a risk at the price tag he'd command, but it's time to take a chance. If we can't land Ryan at a humane price, he'd be a fine second option. Hell maybe Snow knocks our socks off and gets both. Doubtful, but I can dream.

Love to take a run at Prust too.

I am interested in Ryan but i think the price might be unrealistic. it can't be more than three pieces of pick prospect and player

i cant imagine that ryans name wasnt thrown around profusely during the visnovsky trade and they were unable to find a middle ground...i gotta imagine using the visnovsky salary as some leverage would have helped in including ryan;

id be more shocked than "regular shock" about a blockbuster if this one happens.

Heard through the grapevine that Anaheim want 2 first round picks 2013 , 2014 and 2 prospects. That is the asking price

Not even close. I'd look more towards what Jordan Staal was worth. They can ask for that, but the response will be "Ok well then keep the guy that doesn't want to play for you, for that price"

1st rounder, good-not-great roster player, above average prospect. Okposo and deHaan/Donovan would be fine, along with a 1st, for me.
