@DarrenDreger: Shane Doan wants to stay in Arizona, but ownership instability may force him to test free agency. The list of interested teams will be long.

guess you can cross him off the list.

2 and change per season? That's not astronomical for a player who actually has a use. I'd rather see Prust here for even $3m/year than pay a clown like Rolston $5m/year.

You got a point but Snow gave him that ckause to be the player he was.

I just traded Bailey to Chicago with a mid level prospect for Hjarmalsson and Stalberg....
- kear20

Man, what is your hard on for these 2? You have been on here for weeks trying to convince a bunch of fans that we need Hjarmalsson and Stalberg... Go write a letter to Snow or some chinese characters to Wang, maybe they'll hear your cry.

Some tweets regarding Bobby Ryan...

Ball is in #Sabres court right now for landing Ryan but they don't want to give up too much to the #NHLDucks. Would like Roy instead of Adam

#Sabres and #NHLDucks discussions HEATING UP. ANA putting pressure on Buffalo to up its bid; discussing Luke Adam, Stafford, Grigorenko.

That twitter account is complete garbage. As is every single twitter account with any name sounding like it. Any idiot can make an account with a name like that an spew fake trade rumors, and then when they don't pan out claim that "talks fell apart at the last minute" or some other easily vague line of crap (ahem, this means you Eklund and Incarcerated Bob). The simple fact that they have to spell "hockey" with two Y's and "insider" with two R's should be enough to tip you off that it's not legitimate.

I have to say, IB nails it in every sport besides hockey 95% of the time. Guy has a good sense of humor too.

I stopped following him because whenever he's wrong and someone calls him out on it all he does is tweet their name and sick his followers on them. All I've ever seen him tweet, regarding hockey rumors, are things that most of the time haven't panned out or have been blatantly obvious. I fully expect him to tweet something tomorrow about some sort of reason that PAP didn't re-sign here. Not speaking so much towards you, but in general I've voiced my disbelief of IB in here and I'm not going to get into it again.

Maybe he's plugged in outside of hockey, but I'm just not impressed with anything hockey-wise that he's said.

Does anyone know who that person actually is or are we just believing anyone who has an anonymous twitter account now?

I can't be disappointed in PA for wanting to test the market, he's 29, only had a couple seasons in the NHL and obviously is looking for a payday and this opportunity may only come once for him

That being said, I am going to laugh when another team signs him to a multiyear contract over 4 million per year. I think he benefitted enormously from playing with JT and got first line PP minutes all year, even for the short time he was playing on the second line. His stats are inflated from this IMO, and I'd be surprised if he was able to put up 40 points next season on another team.

He's going to get a large contract, that will turn into an anchor for the unlucky team that thinks he's worth it. A fair deal would have been 3 years at 2.8 mil per season.

I do think that when he leaves, he'll have a season that resembles more what he did with the rangers and possibly end up buried in the AHL by the end of the year or the following season.

Jason Blake didn't hurt the Isles by leaving, and PA's upcoming contract will be the same situation. Unfortunately it's not clear who the Isles can fit into that spot on JT's wing that would be ready to contribute. Asking that of Nino or Strome would be foolish and set them up to fail this coming year. It's going to leave the Isles with a hole on the wing but PA at more than 3 mil a season is not smart business.

Yes the Isles have the cap space to sign him, but not using it responsibly is what causes terrible contracts and problems later.

- Isles_since_6

Well put. I agree. I would have loved to see pa stay but he going for his payday. I'm sure snow gave him a very respectable offer. But at end of day, Tavares made pa, pa didn't make Tavares. Even when pa moved to next line, did any notice that all his points still game with jt on the pp. look at ko's stats when he moved to Tavares line.

Pa could very well get his money. But ask Jason Blake if he could do it ll over again. He went from isles go to guy to 3rd liner.

At end of day, not having pa isn't going to hurt the isles. A Ufa or isles current player will step in just fine.

Bailey has way more upside than ko. There I said it. And I like ko.

Only way I say you trade bailey is if he was to bring Ryan or a subban.

Other than that, you guy will be singing praises when bailey is top 3 point guy on isles this year.

On Schultz - according to cap geek. He is eligible for rookie max of 925k including 92k signing bonus. Plus 2.85mm in performance bonus. Cap hit 3.775mm.

So this kid will basically get to chooses where he wants to go. Besides. 1mm with almost 4mm cap hit. Thats sweet music to isles. We love those type of contracts.

Well we could give Schultz the easiest way to reach his bonus, but plenty of teams will do that

I don't think that's true. Matt Gilroy made $1.4 million when he signed with the Rangers as a free agent. No signing bonus, no performance bonuses. Schultz will be an unrestricted free agent. Those max's are for drafted rookies that sign entry level contracts. Tavares made $900k with $2.85m in performance bonuses and a $90k signing bonus.

Who knows, I saw Shane O'Brien re-signed yesterday, I would've liked him for a bottom pairing guy. Not a ton of talent out there, but there are some players that I think could help. As for what Snow has in store, your guess is as good as mine.
