disagree. i don't think he ever gets in. i'd put money on it in fact. (and i'm a huge naslund fan).
- RealityChecker

The fact that he was a total me-first jerk will be enough to keep him out.

Even if he was a nice guy, though, he's still a tier below.

Lindros - absolutely.

Probably the most dominant player to ever come out of junior.

Canada Cup winner at the age of 18.

Hart trophy.

In his prime, nobody was more exciting to watch.

Excellent. That's a GREAT class of HOFers. I'm glad Bure got recognized as well. That dude was insane before his injuries.

Good call. Before it was all guys who had retired before I even watched hockey, now it's starting to be guys that I grew up watching. Well, back to like 2004 with guys like Bourque but I am more and more familar with them every year. It's weird.

My problem with the HHOF is that it celebrates longevity over everything else.

Glaring case in point: Mike Gartner.

Yes, most 30 goal seasons ever. Which means he was above average for a long time.

Sorry, he shouldn't be in the Hall.

And don't even get me started about Joe Mullen.

Most 30 goal seasons shouldn't get him in the hall? Why?

There is almost needs to be a standard of a minimum of 1,000 games played...

Some of these guys getting in with 600, 700 and even 800 games played seems a little weak.

what kind of math are you using? 779 points in 702 games = 1.11ppg

Congrats to all the inductees.

Is Bure really worthy? Sure, he had a 4 or 5 great seasons, but he only played 702 games and wasn't even a PPG player.

I almost think that Shanahan, Lindros, Roenick and Joseph have better cases!

- As_I_See_It

779 P / 702 GP = 1.11 PPG

Learn to math.

the nice guy argument is allowed (if i may use that term) for retiring a jersey. it should never enter the argument for the HOF.

in any particular season, was he ever the best player in the league? ever in the top 5 players in the league?

he scored a lot of goals but was he ever the best scorer consistently?

This is the HOCKEY hall of fame
Not the NHL hall of fame

Sundin did so much for team Sweden, and that is what got him in.
4 gold medals (1 olympic, 3 world), 1 silver and a bronze

Sundin had nobody to play with for the majority of his career, with a declining Mogilny, roberts, and Hoglund... a superstar cast
Shanny played with some guys named Lidstrom, Yzerman, and Fedorov.... were they any good?

Character has a lot to do with it as well.
Sundin was a class act the whole way

If you ask me, Bure is the one that should sit out this years ceremony.

With the amount of superstars eligible Sakic, Oates, Sundin, and Shanahan have contributed most to the game.

just my $0.02

- Climuster

100% agree with this. While I think Bure deserves to be in, this year is a bit premature imo. Shanny definitely. Then I would say Bure and Lindros get in.

0 awards.

0 times named to first all star team.

0 times named to second all star team.

So if a guy was never considered even the second best right winger in an NHL season, do you really think he is Hall-worthy?
