With that statement, you've just confirmed your place in the Clueless Hall of Fame. 1st ballot.

Is it not possible to respect and appreciate a player while not being a fan? That's how I would sum up my opinion of Mats.

I was just about to use that example. Well played! If consistency weren't a factor the Hall would be full of Jonathan Cheechoos and Steve Masons.

lol oh yeah we might as well throw in anyone who ever had a ppg pace for a season.

So is Trevor Linden going into the hall too? How about Marcus Naslund? Matts Sundin meant a hell of a lot to Toronto (If you chose to forget he abandoned you at the end.... but then again so di Bure in Vancouver so I guess it is forgivable) but Hall of Fame.... ?????

Tha lowers the bar. Sundin had no real importance in the playoffs nor did he ever win a Hart or Art Ross or Pearson.

Will Todd Bertuzzi make it? Incident aside, is he hall worthy?

This is not sour grapes... TO needs SOMETHING to be happy about.... but this is Dirk Brouda v2.0 when it comes to inductees.

Lowers the bar.

Dont worry I am sure the Sedin Sisters will get in there one day too you little female dog

You compare Trever Linden to Mats go get your head checked or quit going to Hastings for a fix

If he played in your crappy city for all those years you would be raving about what a great player he was

Now put your head down and crawl back to your own boards

Is being slightly above average for a long time (Sundin) better than being the best player in the league for a limited time (Bure,Lindros)?

Career 1.0 PPG, 27th overall in points all-time. Long-standing Captain, in one of the toughest -- if not toughest -- markets in hockey, with below average wingers for the majority of his career. Stellar International career.

Bath salts.

Everybody's trying to take down the best. That and us and the Habs have the only fanbases capable of sustaining daily or multiple daily blogs. I could go try and troll the 'Yotes blog, but I'd have to wait too long for someone to show up.

I'm not saying you have to buy posters and get a Sundin tat on your ass, but when somebody says, "I'm not a fan" that's generally derogatory or at least a negative opinion; so no, "respect and appreciate" and "not a fan" are not the same thing.

Because they're bored....and Leaf fans are the easiest to troll. Like CityTV, we're everywhere....

I'm thinking my LW keeper options in my fantasy league are so piss poor he has an outside shot of being kept.

I'd be more curious to see what Peter Mueller thinks of Peter Mueller, if he even remembers who he is.....

maybe, maybe not. A player shouldn't make the hall of fame because he MIGHT have had the numbers if he didn't have injuries. That being said I think Bure's 3 60 goal seasons were impressive
- maverickJ

I think it has a little more to do with what he accomplished in such short time. And the way he did it.

He was the most explosive, Exciting player in the world in his day. And paved the way for many people after him to become true speedster, snipers, With sick mitts.

Probably the most dedicated thick-and-thin fan base in hockey. We're the Chicago Cubs of the NHL; an easy target, really.

Plus after he retired there was a group of Canadian researchers tagging and releasing grizzly bears in Sweden for conservation research. One day a big guy shows up in hiking boots and work gloves to volunteer helping them move these tranked grizzlies around, it's (frank)ing Sundin. I love this guy.

There was one spring that I purposely sunburned Sundin 13 onto my back. Maybe I'm more of a fan than I think.

Eric Lindros has better numbers and was more dominant...teams feared playing againt him ...Sundin was a great player but wasn't stellar...plus the Big E has some hardware that actually matters

I'm not sure he refers to himself at all......like the rest of the hockey world.

PS. I saying his name, but with an angry German accent. Try it, it's addictive....really.
