I just don't want to see a promising kid play 6-8 minutes a game in limited situations.

I'd rather he be playing against bigger players in the AHL (compared to the CHL), playing all types of situations, getting use to the faster / tougher game.

Maybe that's just me, but I think we have tried to rush kids to the NHL too often over the last 5+ years and it has just not worked out.

The Habs are in no rush right now, or for the next couple of years.

So why risk it?

I think you need a different approach with every player. Some will benefit alot from spending some years in the AHL while others can make the jump straight from junior.....

The bolded is unacceptable I agree, if a young player makes the team, it should be in a role that is as close as possible as what you expect from him.

Time will tell how they did this year.... but from what I keep reading alot of "experts" seem to think the Habs managed to draft quite well.

Does anyone think that Beaulieu will make the HABS roster this year? Darche leaving the Habs was not something I expected right now.

nope, Beaulieu is not ready, he'll need a good season or two in the AHL. It's better that way, no need to rush these kids in.

For Darche, it was expected. I do respect the guy though, he's an example of perseverance.

Not like we have the best prospects in the NHL, but they have the worse prospect pool by far.

Hell, even the Sharks have a better prospect pool and they keep trading their picks every year.

It's poorly run.

elliote Freidmen or how ever it's spelt says that Flames ownership refuses to rebuild because they think that's not needed and people will stop showing up. And anyone who thinks otherwise is usually fired like Sutter was.
