I think he's a year away. Not to say he couldn't be effective this year, but I think ultimately he'd be better served to play his final year of junior. Especially considering we aren't looking to make any kind of splash this season.

If he's up though I believe its because he should be. I remember Bergevin saying he saw quite a few players ruined by coming up to fast during his playing career, so I trust him when he said he doesn't believe in having players in the NHL before they're 100% ready.

In either case I think he should start the season in Montreal, give him a taste at the very least.

It's not the NHL Hall of Fame, so it should count.

Why would Shero get in? He brought goon hockey into the NHL.

I agree. I would also add he's had one year of junior experience in the OHL. I don't know if I would be comfortable with him making the full time jump to the NHL after missing a full season. Give him around 8 regular season games to get a taste of the level of play at the next level (I say 8 games because I think after 9 games his ELC takes effect. By playing 8 games you wouldn't lose a year on his rookie contract).

the bar is at 10 games for the 1st year of contract to kick in. He could play up to 9 games and go back to Jrs without losing a contract year
