Everyone would. I think Prust will end up costing much more than Staubitz, and if Montreal needs to save $500,000, this might be one way to do that.
- mcmanmat

M'eh we can afford to overpay 500k with the cap raising by more than that every year, Prust is that much better than Staubitz, who can only fight and skate. Prust is a pretty good forechecker and can score a goal here and there, while being effective in a shutdown role.

A lot of hyperbole from me. But just look at scouting lists: With Gally, Collberg, Thrower, Vail & Bozon, #habs just picked 5 1st rndrs.

I'm not a Prust hater. I'm only suggesting that if they run into cap issues, there are ways to fill roles at reduced cost.

We'll see what Bergevin does.

Dude forget about those cap issues, we're fine.

If the (frank)ing pens can afford to sign Parisé, so can we.

We were supposed to have cap issues last year and still managed to sign Cole, while still purchasing Richards.

He's better than not having a fighter though, and that's what I think 3M tries to say.

And with the youngsters who will soon make the big club, they can afford to overpay for good models during their development, before they cost too much.

I was saying that Staubitz was serviceable, and handy to have when White wasn't available.

Oh wait, bad translation on my part.

Meant "Pourchasser", should've said chasing.

Ahh.."pursuing" instead of "purchasing" changes the entire complexion of your initial post.

But I don't ever remember Montreal being in the running for Richards.

Yeah pursuing would've been a better word. Sometimes I translate from French to English and that's what happens. Know fully the meaning of the word purchasing, but I don't really reread myself before posting.

And according to Renaud we were in the running.

What are your thoughts on the Jordan Staal trade?
- Pecafan Fan

I think we got as much as we possibly could, especially considering he said he would either stay and leave at FA or if traded would only sign an extension with the Canes. I'll take the 1st(Pouliot) and Brandon Sutter/Brian Dumoulin over nothing every time.
