Not much need for them with the markets here and all. I'm loving Food Basics though... cheap (frank)ing food.

Yeah. No Frills has pretty good prices too.

I really love the fact that useless, ignorant, piece of poop albertans told me it's sooooo expensive here. Gas is the same, smokes are 4 bucks less a pack, and I got 15 Blue for 18 bucks as opposed to 32 in EDM. (frank)ing clueless idiots.

Some things cost more, some things cost less. Beer isn't bad as far as price goes, but beers you got cheap in AB might be more here (like Kokanee).

The higher costs usually comes down to a few things, primarily housing or renting, cable, internet, entertainment, etc...

All depends on how you choose to live your life and what you find most important.

I don't buy Lucky, but from what I remember it's certainly cheaper than Bud and Blue.

This is true

Gas is cheaper avg. in EDM by about 2 cents.

Our Bell FIBE is around 50 here with wireless and fibre optic wheres Shaw was 150 coaxal and non wifi

More tax in ONT

Housing is slightly less here.

Work here is available but harder to find since they want qualified people instead of any joe blow because of the oil.

IMHO... advantage Ontario.

Good for some of the "bulk" stuff - cereals, detergents, etc... I would never buy produce of any fresh foods at No Frills.

Then again, I have a fresh food store at the bottom of the street... cheap and always a great quality selection.

I have a good deal on cable; my housing group pays the TV, so I only pay internet and phone (I have to pay for PVR too, but it's only $20) with Rogers.

And they have the gall to ask for QUALIFIED people? TA. BAR. NAK.

I don't work in a trade, but I would imagine that qualifications carry a certain amount of weight regardless of your profession.

I like to think I have a pretty good eye for produce; if it's not good, I don't buy it, regardless of who's selling it.

I only work on contract a few months of the year, maybe 6, and from home. Work is not that bad to find, but I did spend years making connections for that to happen.

People just starting out, or without the proper experience, can find it hard to work right now.

That's true for any industry. Even in my field, if you're fresh out of school, be prepared for a tough job hunt, and when you get an offer, it'll be a lowball deal.

When I first moved to the city, the only place near where I lived was a No Frills and no real other source for fresh produce and meats. Maybe it was just that one palce that soured my experience, but if I happen to stop at a No Frills now to pick something up, I do not even bother looking at the "fresh" stuff.

I just heard the local pub patio call my name - may you all wake up with the hangover I likely will have tomorrow.

EDIT: Obviously that was not for Pete, as it was a given regardless!

Although I have seen some bad produce at No Frills, it's not a guarantee. I suspect it was probably just the place.
