In fairness, not many players will go to PHX with all the ownership crap going on there. Getting a decent player to come play is a win for the 'Yotes.

They got traded to Calgary in the Cammalleri trade. I think he's UFA now.

McGuire: Carkner would never sign with Montreal.. he was drafted by them and never got a chance to play....


5 Minutes later: Brandon Prust would be perfect in Calgary... wasn't he drafted by Calgary and moved?

And Carkner was traded the year after he was drafted and was still playing in juniors. It's not like has played 5 years in the minors and never got a call up or was buried by the organization.
