I don't 100% understand the insurance thing for a contract. When a contract is not insurable this means if a player (Crosby in this case) gets hurt, the team has to pay him and not the insurance company?

I don't 100% understand the insurance thing for a contract. When a contract is not insurable this means if a player (Crosby in this case) gets hurt, the team has to pay him and not the insurance company?

yup, if he gets a concussion next season and his career is over....Pitts will be responsible for 100% of the contract
