He brings stability to the bottom 6, is a veteran with good leadership.

Will show the ropes to the kids.

And his cap hit is low so he can be traded easily.

Probably had a lower cap hit because the habs gave him 4 years.

Is what he would've said had the habs signed that (frank)ing plug Darche instead of Moen (who actually contributes what his role asks of him - toughness and penalty kill).

1.85M cap hit is pretty low...

He was signed at 1.5M for 3 years before that. He deserved the raise.

He'll be 34 at the end of the deal.

He'll be easy to trade if it ever comes down to this. Great team player, won the stanley cup (had a big part in it too), great penalty killer, is tough and can definitely fight... I'm sure a lot of teams would be willing to throw a 2nd rounder at us for Moen on trade deadline.

We're missing a bottom pairing tough defenseman and a scoring winger to put on Plekanec's flank. I'm pretty sure Bergevin is aware of this already.
