Latendresse is UFA.....won't cost any assets. Ryder would cost a prospect and a pick...and the Habs are rebuilding. I would take Ryder take no problem but I don't think the Habs are in a position to sacrifice too many assets at this point, too early in the rebuilding process. Ryder is better but not available.

He is still a solid NHL player who scored 27, 18, 18 and 35 goals the last 4 season. He has value want it or not. I know the fact he is newfie greatly reduce his value, he might be dumb but Dallas isn't....well maybe a bit since Gainey went there.

If Morrow was available....I would LOVE that guy in MTL.

I would take Prust for sure, UFA, cost no assets. Ott wouldn't be cheap though.

Tootoo's more than just a tough guy and would be a great addition to the habs... so long as the team keep his ass far away from any kind of alcohol.

Ryder gets about 50-60 pts and 30 goals most seasons and has been pretty consistant except for 2 letdown years (his last in MTL and 2nd in BOS). It would be pretty delusional to believe he doesnt have value - 30 goals scorers are a very hot commodity on today's NHL. Dilluted talent tends to have that effect.

Also, wtf, Ryder picked in the 8th round with amazing junior stats.
