well there is the 300,000,000 population here and a 30,000,000 there.

I would bet the sheer numbers are different but maybe not the percentages.

who knows. my wife and i have always liked the idea of moving to canada so i'm not adverse to leaving the US.

Dude our Economy would have fell too if Harper didn't give thousands of Billions to the canadian banks secretly.

He boasts his chest saying we have a strong economy while in fact we're not much better than our neighbours.

You would have asked him in 2008 about loosing the Banking laws and he would have thought it was a good idea.

Poverty rate of USA in 2008 (as Wikipedia) : 13.2% Americans lived in relative poverty.

Canada : 10.8%

You are right the number are closer than I thought initially (still this 3% is a lot of people). But the average house income difference is more prononced :

Canada : 68,410 CAD

USA : 49,445 USD

But the cost of living is far less than here. Booze, food ,taxes etc is way cheaper. (frank) sakes you can even write of your mortgage against your taxes.
