For Robin
Hawks are shopping D Nicklas Hjalmarsson & the Oilers are very interested, Sam Gagner or Magnus Paajarvi would go the other way. |

That would be a poor move on Chicagos part. |

As much as I'd like to sign Schultz for his talent/potential, doesn't anyone have questions or concerns about his character with the way he was rumored to have mislead and bailed on the Ducks? |

Don't know too much about him, all I have is the stats.
2.93 ,20W, 13L, 2T - LeafMan
well he's 19.. undrafted rangers backup
from the toronto area.. the reason i sad interesting is that the ECHL team may need a backup goalie if owuya is brought up to the AHL
of course.. that would mean a spot opens up on the big club to make room in the AHL |

I'm more worried about his game if we get him. I know the consensus is that he is really good, but he is still a prospect with ZERO NHL experience. So there is still the ? around him a little bit for me. |

Just think of how (frank)in' pissed Leafs fans would be if a player ever did this to us.
We would be lighting the torches, calling for his head and sending out the lynch mobs! |

Eh, not really. He probably did intend to sign, and then realized he could play anywhere he wanted if he waited a couple months.
As for him showing no loyalty to the Ducks, well Bobby Ryan showed plenty of loyalty and now seems quite pissed with the Ducks for shopping him. So loyalty has to go both ways. |

Absolutely none whatsoever.
How did he mislead the Ducks in any way?
He hasn't broken a single rule. He has abided by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
Period. |

Rask was basically going to do this - re-enter the draft.
That's why JFJ dealt him. |

Won't even pretend I've seen Schultz play, besides his Youtube highlights.
Burke wants him bad though, and it's a very good chance he's the reason Schultz didn't sign a deal with the Ducks.
It's definitely nice to hear a player actually wanting to sign in Toronto... Really as long as he doesn't end up with the Rangers I'll be happy |

The rumor is that Schultz "gave his word" that he'd resign and then went back on it.
Sure, I guess he hasn't "officially broken any rules" because he never put pen to paper, but if this true, then his professionalism, integrity and maybe ever his maturity is put into question. |

On Justin Schultz
If we go over how things went down.
Anaheim said they spoke to him and he couldnt wait to play for them.
"I don't know what the heck happened there. We were in Chicago and we still weren't playing great and I talked to the kid straight up and said we could use you right now on the big club. We won't send you to the Crunch, as soon as you're through with Wisconsin we'll get you down there on the ice. The kid looked me right in the eye and said I can't wait coach. It's what I've always wanted.
then something changed, if we assume no GM did anything "illegal" and tampered, what other logical explanation could come of it, other than he has talked to Gardiner and was convinced not to sign and play in Toronto.
It is possible that Schultz could change his mind as to what team he wants to sign with based on what the GMs are selling him.
I also dont buy the comment from other teams fans that there is no room for him in Toronto. Last season there was no room for Gardiner, but he played his way onto the team, and Franson and Komisarek sat. If he is a good player and NHL ready, all he has to do it earn a spot, and he will get his playing time no matter where he lands. - senstroll
This could have nothing to do with Schultz and more to do with his agent. Schultz could very well want to play for Anaheim, but his agent heard about the hype he was getting and decided it would be in THEIR financial interests to find out who will pay the most. Although everyone can only offer an entry level contract, signing bonuses and performance bonuses will vary depending on the team. This extra money will also go in the AGENTS pocket. |

I don't feel it one bit. As I made in my point earlier, I don't think Schultz changed him mind as much as his agent changed it for him. Anaheim tried to get a commitment from a player who had no input from an agent. Serves them right to think they could pull a fast one on some dumb kid.... |
