I think Ek is referring to Schultz. Hthey're supposed to meet with agents today to decide who they will sign with. Pretty sure they can not sign until July 1 but I think they can vocally express interest without tampering now.

Scott Howson is essentially what an average know-it-all poster on a hockey forum would be like if you gave him a GM job.

I think he actually believes he's playing NHL '12 and he's still trying to craft a deal in which he gets Crosby and Malkin for Nash + (like a late pick or something).

If this is true, how the (frank) does Howson still have a job when Columbus has openly stated that they're in "rebuild mode" and they pass on an opportunity like this?
Murray might be good, but he's not THAT good!

My guess is that Howson will be canned after he gets bent over and botches the Nash trade setting the Jackets back another few years.
