New topic: If I had to hazzard an educated guess on who the Leafs next #1 centre would be, I'd go with Stastny. Yes, he's got a big contract but he's Burke's type of player and with Duchesne signing a new deal, he's the odd man out.

Personally, I like his game and think he'd be a good fit for the #1 spot. I think Mac Arhur or Bozak and a 1st round pick would be more than enough to land him.

Realistically, Getzlaf will stay in ANA with Ryan demanding a trade and Parise will go to an American market (Det, Min, NYR) or sign in NJ.

Thoughts? Any other big potentially #1 centers available you think could be pried away by the Leafs?

I agree with most of your post....the only think I don't agree with is that Stastny is the 'odd man out in Colorado.' I think he's expendable because of his contract and the fact Duchene and O'Reilly can take the #1 and 2 centre spots, but I'm sure they'd be happy to keep him. They have a ton of cap space but also need to re-sign a ton of players. I think the offer of a decent winger (MacArthur) and a decent defenseman (Franson, Gunnarsson) might get them to bite.
