I can imagine Shanny doing one of his stupid explanation videos as his acceptance speech. |

Aren't you guys spewing that exact same crap about Eddie Lack as well? - As_I_See_It
Haven't heard anywhere that Lack is "the best goalie in the world outside the NHL...." Do you just make this stuff up? Most Canucks fans see him as a prospect with solid/excellent potential. Weak, weak, weak. |

According to Canucks fans, Lack is apparently "the best goalie not in the NHL!"
Sure hope he's the answer in the next year or two before the Canucks' cup window closes! - As_I_See_It
Source? Stop making up these fantasies/lies. Lack is a solid prospect -- and he's proven as much at the NHL level as Markstrom: nothing. |

According to Canucks fans, Schneider is a top 5 goalie in the league.
According to Canucks fans, Lack is going to be better than Schneider.
What's "weak" is that you should be able to connect these two dots... |

It was Tallon that admitted they had had conversations re Luongo. Unless Gillis slipped him a $50 to put on a decoy ploy it seems he might actually have some interest. |

The sad thing is that Gillis is probably thinking that he's being clever and gaining leverage on a market that he's trying to create through smoke and mirrors.
You watch the draft? Gillis' face was so red that I thought his head was going to explode at any moment! Needless to say, Gillis didn't appear to carry himself very well and looked somewhat stressed and frustrated (likely about Van's G situation), and I'd be willing to bet that personnel from 29 other organizations made note of that too.

Dude, Gillis always looks like that. Ever since he picked up the GM job he regularly looks like he's just woken up after a Vegas bender. |

This is true. Dude needs to get in shape, at least he's no Jay Feaster! |

True, but you're setting the bar pretty low there. Odds on he'll have a heart attack before Calgary get back into the playoffs. |

And Morgan Rielly is the next Paul Coffey, while Gardiner is the next Niedermeyer.
Just so you know, Burke would have picked Rielly even if the Leafs had the first pick!
Whatever Feaster does, he shouldn't trade Jankowski because "he's going to be the best player from this draft in 10 years!" - As_I_See_It
I didn't say a generational superstar. I said better then schneider.
Obviously you think Schneids is the next best thing out there. He's good, will play solid. But he's had the luxury of a presidents cup team in front of him and a star goalie to split time with. Not much stress there at all.
Who knows, him cramping up like he did in chicago way be how he really reacts to pressure.
I'd rather put my hopes in Jankowski then kadri. And Flames had to take a long shot. None of the drafts they would have made at that point would have made a difference this year. So getting a 2nd pick and stocking the cupboards is a good move.
But you don't have to worry about that since everyone wants to play in toronto right.

everything this year is a long shot. first Cervenka, now Jankowski. Hopefully he's got something else under his belt this summer...not just fat rolls |

All due respect to Theodore, but Luongo is the better goalie by a fair bit. Theo had his best year since before the lockout and Lu had a so-so year by his standards. And with that Luongo still had better numbers. Luongo is a star while Theodore is a capable stopgap.
If Tallon can get Luongo at a reasonable cost, I think it would be well worth it for them. Markstrom is a quality prospect, but that's all he is. The kid is 22 with a 2-5-1 record in 8 NHL starts. Luongo is a proven #1. |

Seriously tho, no team is really 2-3 years away anymore with the salary cap.....not even the bottom feeders if managed correctly. Will Luo help FLA, hell ya......do FLA need Luo.....more-so than Theodore if they want to make a run at the cup THIS year.....should FLA trade will FLA? Not for me to say.....but if you are happy with the "hold on till next year" mentality, than you really aren't a sports fan.....there is only 1 winner and the rest are all losers....*sigh* as a Canuck fan, I would know..... |
