Good God no. Mezzy is our best D man outside Kimmo. I truely don't understand why people think trading him will help this team in get any better. And Read's cap hit is gold. Id love to add Ryan but that's wayyyyy too much.

While I don't agree that Meszaros is the Flyers best defenseman outside of Timonen. I agree with your point of not doing that trade. That's too much and an overpayment.

Realistically the only defenseman of any real value I can see us affording to give up is MAB. The absolute most I'd be willing to go is Jake, MAB & a 1st. If that's not enough then it just wasnt meant to be.

Has anyone confirmed or debunked the story of the Isles draft day offer to Columbus?

if you trading Voracek int the deal --- Mez + voracek + a 1st, I would want sbisa back also. If they scoffed at the deal, I would tell them to go quack themselves.

I don't blame Ryan at all for being put out by the way LA has handled him. This isn't the first time they've publicly acknowledged shopping him. So how wanted and loyal is he supposed to feel. They've not even paid lip service to valuing and keeping him. For all the criticism Holmgren has gotten for trades he's made, he's never hung someone out there by saying "yeah, we're looking to trade him." He's your player and you treat him with respect until he's not your player (and to some extent, even then).

I haven't seen it, not saying it's not there. But has Anaheim publicly acknowledged shopping Ryan? Or is it something that leaked out on Twitter or Social Media, revealed by a source?

It scares me how much the HB GM's overvalue other teams' players and undervalue those on the Flyers. It's like a reverse of the usual for a fanbase.

Hmmm...interesting.
I find the Isles making such an offer far more ridiculous than Columbus not accepting it.

Seems more like the player is making the rumbles this time, as opposed to the late fall when it was the team shopping him.

Maybe the Ryan trade talk is to get Voracek to sign a long term deal so they dont have to keep doing this yearly dance........

That should be plenty to land an unhappy Ryan.....Jake only had 9 less points than Ryan last year.

no trade then. I would not part with Brayden Schenn in any deal......I really don't see anything happening until July 1st. If they miss out on Parise, they will get Ryan -- but not for Schenn.

Interesting player… RT @NHLwiki: #NHL The Colorado #Avalanche have given up on 24-year-old Peter Mueller, no QO. Becomes a #UFA July 1st.

No thanks.

ASSETS: Has impressive size, hand/eye coordination and reach. Is at his best with the puck on his blade. Can score goals and also set up teammates with equal aplomb. Is versatile enough to quarterback a power play.
FLAWS: Concussion issues linger. Isn't a great skater, which somewhat hinders his otherwise supreme offensive acumen for the NHL level. Doesn't utilize his physical gifts enough to his advantage. Takes some nights off.
CAREER POTENTIAL: Talented, yet fragile scoring winger.

So Anaheim wants Voracek. Flyers are fine with giving him up but won't give up two forwards (Matt Read) in the deal. Voracek doesn't want to go to Anaheim, wants to stay in Philly. Anaheim doesn't want to trade one player that doesn't want to be there for another.

So where does that put us?
