The problem is what is the bargaining chip. What do you have to offer him that any other team can't. It's not money, every team is going to offer the same money. The only chip is playing time and role on the team. Flyers, especially if they re-sign Carle are full on defense. Kids not stupid. He knows he'd be put in a back seat here.

I honestly dont see a team offering him more than 2nd pairing and PP time. Only difference is he would be 3rd pairing player here until an injury or two occured.

I agree with you. But some team may be dumb enough to do it. I think the most you could guarantee him is a roster spot on the big club if you truly believe hes that good to step in and play.

I like Bourdon. I think he has a chance to be an NHL regular. I like him better then Gustafsson actually.

Only 22, I'm mystified why there is this perception he can't continue to improve with experience. Do I believe he'll ever be an all-star? No, but certainly serviceable and with a reasonable cap hit for the next couple of years.
