Depends on who would be involved in that deal, but I'll be honest I don't think another "major" move in needed.

I don't either. They LOVE Ryan though. I'm fine with adding him as long as they sow up the hole they make.

I do believe the Flyers want to upgrade the wing position for G. I believe Jagr probably is the third choice right now. To me, there is a multitude of factors to weigh. First, obtaining Parise will require no assets given up. However, you would have to believe Parise's contract is going to be probably for at least 8 years or and I would estimate close to $7 million/yr roughly.

Ryan is 3 years younger with a cap hit of $5.1 million for just 3 more years, but will require giving up assets. I'm not going to comment on the rumors of who is involved, but I think it is safe to say from past trades involving top wingers usually brought back d-men.

I highly doubt knowing the organization they would look at cheaper options in free agency, possibly they feel L. Schenn could fill that role. Personally, I don't believe Voracek is the answer. I view him more as a Leino type forward, great set-up guy who will give you a decent amount of goals, but definitely not a Neal or Gaborik type scorer.

In the end, I have little doubt a significant contract will be added. Just a matter of who?

Yea, the Schenn deal reinforces that feeling. When they like a guy they go for him. Interested to see what happens with Ryan.

I just like how much space Jagr opened up for Giroux and Hartnell this year, and I think that he would do even more if it was with Ryan and Giroux. Jagr always drew double coverage and most of the time he was able to feed the puck to Giroux or Hartnell when they got open. Even when Jagr wasn't scoring, he was a key part in why Giroux and Hartnell were. I wouldn't just let him go unless it's absolutley clear that A. He is done and too Old, or B. We know Giroux can do just as well without him.

I also wouldn't underestimate the value of Jagr's mentorship and experience on a team with lots of young players. Jagr has been there and done it all. He'll help keep the team on an even keel...the caveat being, if he battles injury or falls out of favor and off the G line. If Jagr has any lingering health issues that will continue into the next season, I'd be inclined to pass...if he's 100%, and willing to play for the same or less pay, I'd love to have him on board again. He's a big asset (when healthy).

Knowing Homer's propensity for wanting to get ahead of the game, I would lean slightly towards Homer making a move before July 1st. I know there is a lot of chatter about Ryan, but I'm sure he is doing his due diligence discussing other possible opportunites. I have to believe he has at least inquired about Evander Kane.

Both Ryan and Jagr could be on the club next season IMO.

Depends on if Voracek is part of the package.

You're probably correct. I do find it a bit ironic the Flyers are looking for a Jeff Carter type winger. Of course, I'm not second guessing the trade that Homer was getting to accomplish, especially since the Flyers were so fortunate to have Coots slip in the draft.

So Carle puts up points just by being on the Flyers. Has nothing to do with the plays he makes? Gotcha!

The Flyers shouldn't re-sign Carle then. They should just get any decent puck mover in here then.

Certainly not impossible, I just don't think Jagr is their first option to ride shot gun with G for the upcoming season.

absolutely. tired of so many people giving weber, suter, and rinne all the credit for nashville's playoff success, when clearly it was all goose.

Any interest in Marc-Andre Gragnani - Vancouver is not extending qualifying offer making him a UFA
- ob18

Wow. And he was supposed to be the hidden gem in the Cody Hodgson deal too. Although at the moment that deal seems to have been a dud for both teams. I sure Hodgson and Kassian will fare a bit better next season.

I also heard the Canucks didn't qualify Aaron Rome. I think Rome would be a decent 5/6 guy for the Flyers. He's feisty.

And I don't think he should be. I won't mind if he comes back. Because I felt he did a lot of good things here. And he was a positive influence. But a lot depends on the options in place. My first wish is for a #1 defenseman. Don't know if that's in the cards now. Second then is a UFA Winger. Which can be done without giving up youth. But I'd prefer a more permanent option then Jagr.
