Screw it!!!!! Make that trade. Sign Carle, Salvador and Biron and lets get on with camp. Tired of who is right and wrong. Who is good or not. The chances of us winning the cup are pretty decent. I just want a team that plays hard every night. Not the one that played the devils. I don't care who the name on the back is. I only love the crest on the front.

I just see it as giving a lot to get a little more than what we already have. Ryan's a stud but like you said, we got some kids who deserve a chance to show what they can do. Also a stocked blueline seems like a nice change. If they overpaid for Bryz really remains to be seen. i don't like the length but hey Khabibulin is till playing goood at 39 so whatevs...
- JoeRussomanno

I also meant overpaying for Bryz in the trade for his rights. I've always hated that move. Even in the deal for Kimmo and Hartsy, I didn't think it really saved them salary as they paid a high price for both. And that is the one case where it worked to some degree.

But after every other team and free agent caught on, I think it puts more pressure on the team to overpay as they now have skin in the game with the loss of the pick.

It was actually nice to hear Homer admit this over the weekend.

I just like how much space Jagr opened up for Giroux and Hartnell this year, and I think that he would do even more if it was with Ryan and Giroux. Jagr always drew double coverage and most of the time he was able to feed the puck to Giroux or Hartnell when they got open. Even when Jagr wasn't scoring, he was a key part in why Giroux and Hartnell were. I wouldn't just let him go unless it's absolutley clear that A. He is done and too Old, or B. We know Giroux can do just as well without him.

I liked both Jagr's and Svoboda's comments about different training methods later in the season. Hopefully that would keep him fresher. Also, the injury really slowed him down (tho of course age is the primary concern signing him, and that contributed to the injury).

Just divide the missed shots by total shots!

Or consider Doan if he accepts two years, or Parenteau. I think Phoenix would do two on Doan tho and he goes there rather than somewhere else for two.

what he's ultimately getting at is there's something about almost any player fans will female dog about.
- JoeRussomanno

Absolutely. You heard the same song with Carter that you hear with Carle. ALL of Carter's blocked shots turn into a odd man rush, or a goal against. Same with Carle's shots that are blocked. With all being emphasized.

What if you offered him 3 yrs? Would you be willing to do that? Is Doan's cap hit going to go down?

Yea, but all of Carters missed shots were at open nets. Everyone elses is because they have goalies in front of them and have to pick the corners. DUH

You should hate Brian Campbell for deflecting the shot.

I know I'm really gonna win some hearts and minds here but I'd be willing to give him his four years. poop look what we gave Pronger and Doan is such a Character guy I don't think he'd mind in the latter parts of that contract playing less ice times. To me it be like adding Knuble in his mid 30's all over again. (frank) it the team defense was an issue and I think he'd be one helluva shot in the arm towards improving that. Something he could probably teach better than say Jagr.

I agree with everyone who said he's had some hard mileage on his body. With the over 35 rules still in place, that's also a concern.

But, I think it should be considered as an option if Parisi, Ryan, Jagr, and Parenteau all fall through

That shot cost them the game.....shot it right into his chest. He makes the shot and who knows what happens game seven.....a shame he did that for someone else

His price tag could be higher than what you want to pay. I wouldn't mind adding Doan but I say lets meet in the middle at three years.
