If the ducks need help on D and this Schultz is so good, why are they letting him walk?

Lets say this rumor is true and the deal does get done. Without thinking about who was traded etc. What do you think of this year's team.

Ryan-Giroux-Jagr
Hartnell-Briere-Voracek
Schenn-Couturier-Simmonds
Wellwood-Talbot-Rinaldo

Timonen-Schenn
Grossmann-Coburn
Carle-Bourdon

Bryz
Birons or other UFA.

Extras: Sestito, Harry Z, Gus, Lilja.

Is it balanced. Is the D stong enough? How is the offense?

- RooNosHockey

I actually like that. However, as someone else said, I think we target a dman in FA.

Book it weber in philly next year!

Dustin Leed ‏@D_LEED
In Luke Schenn's first season in Kelowna as 16 year-old, they went to the Memorial Cup. While there, his roommate was Shea Weber.

Well he's not staying there and they have a need on D and he's supposed to be the second coming of Bourque

SOURCE: #Flyers have offered Meszaros, Read, and a 1st round pick in 2013 to #Ducks for Bobby Ryan. So far, no deal. Talks ongoing.

Effing INSANE if this is even close to being true.

- MBFlyerfan

If you think this is too much, the scary thing is that the deal has not been accepted. So they want more.

I'd actually be fine with that deal if they can sign Schultz or comparable replacement. Mesz back is suspect, and effectively you are then trading Mez and Read and the pick for Schultz and Ryan.

Ill do it for you.

It means Carter missed 25.3% of the time. and Ryan missed 24.5% of the time.

Result:ANOTHER Carter myth debunked when put in context.

NEXT UP: The list of future Hall of Famers who turned the puck over more than Matt Carle "turnover machine" did last season.

24 hrs later and I still am having a hard time liking that it was JVR traded for Schenn.

SO the plan is to replace one of our top 4 with a guy that hasn't played a shift in the NHL? If so no thanks.

Another way to look at it is:

A very good d-man who spent time on IR last year, a 26 yo undrafted FA and a low 1st round pick.

Exactly. I did a post about this a few years ago. For some reason I just couldn't figure out the formula for getting the percentage. When you take the numbers for the most of the top shot producers in the League. They all miss the net around the same percentage. Give or take a few percentage points. But you get uninformed opinions on issues like this for certain player. Mike Richards actually missed the net a higher percentage of the time here then Carter did.

Okay someone do the math for me cause I cant get on capgeek. If Jagr is 3 million and Carl is 5 million how much room will the Flyers have under the expanded summer cap, and how much will they have after waiving Shelly, Walker, and the other scrubs, and sending Schenn down for a game minus Prongers LTIR allowance.
