Voracek is getting at least 3.5. that's why I'd trade him. I'd sign Bouch for league minimum. I'd give Parise a 7 year 49 million contract.

Isnt bouch still with the canes for another year?

Now, this could be interesting:

To Ana - Voracek, 1st, Bourdon/Gusty
to Phi - Ryan

Thoughts?

Finding a top-line winger is a need IMO. I just wouldn't deal Voracek AND Coburn/Meszy for Ryan.
- LeachHextall27

I think it is more important that we get some size/sandpaper for the defensive side of the puck....Forward and defenseman. Perhaps Schenn goes a ways towards addressing the meanness aspect on the blueline, but I still think a bigger need at forward is getting a big mean defensive specialist to take some of the pressure off Cooter, allowing him to access his offensive game a little bit more.

Big overpayment.
- Philly1980

What about a 2nd or 3rd instead of the 1st? So Coburn/Jake/Bourdon and 3rd.

It won't happen on the first day of the Season, but at some point early in the Season, Schenn's Cap hit will be reduced.

Coburn is not a deal breaker in my opinion. Coburn instead of Meszaros just means I ask for more coming back. If you think about our Defense, we need what Meszaros brings more then Coburn.

Defensive minded Guys:
Coburn
Grossmann
Schenn

Passing Guys
Timonen
Carle

Shoot First Guys
Meszaros
Gustefsson

- RooNosHockey

Coburn is a good skater too while Grossman is relatively slow. Also, Schenn is yet unproven. Gustafsson is okay across the board. There is nothing he does particularly well. Moving Coburn to get Ryan hurts the team IMO.

There is also a clause as far as I have read that has to do with playing 25 minutes a night. I think it may be true.

It would be nice, but trading Voracek and Meszaros/Coburn for Ryan would not benefit the Flyers in the long run.
- FreshFlyer

I think it would benefit the Flyer now and in the long run. Everyone is saying to have patience with our youth, but you will be sacraficing Bourdon and Gus with the current defense. I would rather give 1 of those guys the 6th spot, save 3 million Resign Carle and Jagr and get Ryan to play with Giroux and Jagr.

Ryan, Giroux, Jagr
Hartnell, Schenn, Briere (take Briere's defensive problem away)
Read, Couturier, Simmonds
Wellwood, Talbot, Rinaldo. (line still has off- pop and speed)

Timonen-Meszaros (pass-shot)
Carle-Schenn (pass/speed-big hitter/Defense)
Grossmann-Bourdon (stay at home-tough with a shot)

Bryz
UFA

Extra:
Sestito
Cousins
Harry Z

Lilja
Gustefsson.

He is and I don't know why he'd leave or they'd trade him.

Here's one guy I've thought about and now with Gustavsson there, no way he signs with Winnipeg unless Pavelec walks to the K..

I just DO NOT want to see the Flyers basically giving up one of their top 4 to get Ryan. To me that is so counter productive.

And yes, with Timonen's age and durability becoming a factor, Coburn and Mezz will be top 4 this season at some point.

Average of 25 minutes a night....you cant do average till the season ends i guess or the point where it becomes mathematically impossible.

That's fine. I like Coburn. I also like Meszaros. I think 1 of them will go for Ryan, and you have to give up a roster forward. I dont want to do Schenn or Couts. And with Read's cap hit I think you keep him. With Voracek giving you contract problems 2 years in a row, trade him before it becomes a problem. He is a nice young player, but I don't know where all this Voracek love is coming from. He reminds me of a stonger, slightly more talented version of Ville Leino. Holds onto the puck too long, and doesnt shoot enough. He has 0 finish. Wellwood has more finish then Voracek. But I do agree if your trading Voracek and either Coby or Mez something coming back would be good. Its not going to be Sbisa... Anaheim is killing for D. But most likely a 2nd, which with the ducks will likely be a high second.
- RooNosHockey

Far too much is being made of Voracek being unsigned at this point. It's just negotiations. And Voracek has zero finsih? I'd hardly call 18 goals as having zero finish. And I hope your right about Wellwood having more finish. So what should we exepct from Wellwood this upcoming Season? 20 goals?

What's better?
A) To have an Art Ross player on your team in Giroux and a Maurice Richard trophy winner on his wing in Ryan

or

B) Well balanced scoring depth throughout the lineup & a Stanley Cup

Stamkos had a great season last year...and not one playoff game.

It is but he fits the Flyers needs perfectly. Boucher is a grat backup, knows his role and he can give you some good games off of the bench.

IF the Flyers could get Schultz, and I don't think they do by the way, then I'd be ok with Coburn + Cousins/Lawton/Gusty/Bourdon + 1st.

Short-term is risky giving up Coburn for Schultz, but long-term could be really sweet.

- TheGreat28

Coots, B. Schenn (this willl be annoying putting first initials), G, and Coburn are the only untouchables on this team. I think the player the Flyers should be trying to move is Timonen. Great leader, another Fin for their team, and it's like a 1 year at 3 mill while doubling his cap hit. If they like him, they can re-sign him for less. I also don't think Kimmo would object to going to beautiful SoCal to play with Koivu and Selanne. Kimmo has been great for this team, but he is easily the worst defenseman currently on this team and I'd much rather have Mezzy than Kimmo.

They won't have that much. What Bill says is about what they'll have.
- MJL

That's what I wanted to get clarity on...

Bill said "...they will be left a bit less than $3 million of cap space... The remaining space plus some of the eventual Pronger LTIR allowance could be used to re-sign Jaromir Jagr for one more year..."

This sounds like they have the $3MM plus all of Prongers $4.9MM. Or, is it only portion of Prongers Salary?

Coburn and Voracek are more valuable to the team than just Ryan would be. They have offense already. If we moved Coburn than we'd lose a vital part of our defense and there aren't any UFAs as good as him. The team is in a good place as is although I'd like to add another gritty player.
