How does Columbus not accept this? And why didn't he then try with Edmonton. I call BS on this

Because it never happened...lol.

What a dumb trade offer by the Isles if that's true. If you ever entertain trading away an entire draft, you can only do it for a generational player i.e. Crosby, Malkin, etc. Not for Ryan Murray. That can't be true. And if it is, I can't believe CBJ turned it down.
- Jethro09

The version that is written about missed out a vital piece of info.

I'm hearing it was if the Oilers passed on Yako, and picked Murray!!!

Then the trade offer was there... but who really knows. It didn't happen!!!

Whatever might have happened didn't so who cares? We got what we got. I'm not dissatisfied with the trade or our draft even though it was a bit strange. If I'm not debbie downing completely it couldn't have been that bad

for Nail I still think an entire draft would have been an overpayment. Regardless, I love the way things turned out for the Isles in this draft. Visnovsky, Reinhart, and six other "D" prospects. The organization's "D" at the NHL level on down looks markedly better today than it did on the last day of the 2011-12 season.

Plan A...Need to offer Parise and Suter matching contracts @ the same time.... probably won't happen. But why not try it.

Then plan B sign some grit players.

Plan C... make trades!!!

If all fails... well then you know the rest of the story...

No he does not, he looks like a kid with stilts for legs. Guy has to pack on some weight.
- Cptmjl

No, you're wrong. Been in the rink with him after practice in shorts & t-shirt.
Maybe all you've seen was from the knees down, IDK? KO would not look outta place in the weight room with an NFL team. That being said, a power-lifters body is not ideal for playing hockey. I agree, I wish he had a bit more of a mean streak. But tell me who has ever really challenged him in a game? I've seen him try a few times to go after someone(other player wanted nothing to do with him) but he was never known for being a fighter, so what's the point? He also had MAJOR shoulder surgery. Even with the best rehab, that injury takes a long time to fully heal back to normal. I'd say KO & Streit BOTH look better this year, a full year removed from surgery and no re-injuries of the same joint. He could learn to try and go through Dmen/inside and crash on the net more often. He's predictable and isn't trying to snipe on college-level goalies anymore, this is the big show....learn a few new tricks.

I admit I probably would have taken Grigorenko, but I couldn't be happier with the draft. Defense, size, and toughness were all major needs that we addressed.

What'd they ASK? What his favorite burger joint is?

Would jump through the roof if Snow were able to pull that off, however you just KNOW that asking price would be astronomical.

id say its safe to assume that his name came up during negotiations involving visnovsky and clearly they were unable to work something out and at this point that ship has sailed....

Snow probably offered the entire draft picks for 2013 to ducks for Ryan

I have no irrational hope, but negotiations for a player of his caliber aren't something that's going to get thrown together in a week.

I don't think they will ever get Ryan....But if I was Snow I'd offer 2013 first ( one of the best drafts classes in years) DeHann, and one of (Bailey, Okposo and Grabner) .

DeHann (a very good D prospect that can take Schulez's spot)

1st round pick (great draft class)

and then one of

Okposo (up and down player but can easily be a 25-30 goal scorer)

Grabner ( speed, and gets allot of chances)

Bailey (younger of the three and has upside)

With all of this being said, it will not happen in a million years. Nash to the Rangers, Ryan to the flyers and the division will get that much better.

It's not that I would mind parting with them, but trading 3 of our forwards for 1 guy would be tough.

Also, almost every year you hear the "next year's draft class is really talented" before the season starts, but once you put these kids under a microscope, things start to change. There is a lot of talent at the top of the draft though, in Mackinnon and Jones.

Really doubt Snow will trade our 1st rounder next year. He gave up the 2nd rounder for Visnovsky and I don't see him going without a 1 and a 2.

what do nick lidstrom bobby orr and denis potvin have in common? they are all 6'2 and under and did their asses ever get handed to them..my point is you don't have to be 6'4 220 to be an effective dmen..

I'd nominate Snow as executive of the year if he pulled that trade off...
