Do you guys believe what Portzline reported, that Snow offered all his picks for Columbus' 2nd overall?

Who do you guys think Snow wanted, Murray or Yakupov?

- QuebecPride

I don't believe it fully. I believe Snows target was Yakupov with whatever trade was ACTUALLY proposed. It would be completely out of Snow's character to trade all of his picks for one.

what do nick lidstrom bobby orr and denis potvin have in common? they are all 6'2 and under and did their asses ever get handed to them..my point is you don't have to be 6'4 220 to be an effective dmen..
- NYI78

i didnt say you HAVE TO BE but certainly doesnt hurt...i think we can all agree guys like dylan reese, andy mcdonald, mark katic, aaron ness, even calvin de haan arent exactly making the opposition shake in their boots....

That was kinda my point. At some level comparisons could be drawn, but I don't think Ryan is worth what some people would be willing to give up. People are willing to let someone walk who actually produced more points than a player they'd be willing to mortgage the entire future on. Again, I understand they are entirely different players....I've been watching the game for over 30 years, but he's not worth giving up as much as what some people are proposing.
- Charlie21

the argument can be made that ryan has three straight 30 goal seasons and is singificantly younger than pa

He looked pretty happy to me when I watched the replay.

Plus he said he was starstruck when Tavares called him to welcome him to the team.

Tavares and Hamonic both called him. Both are the future leaders of this team.

Don't forget to tune into TSN 1050 radio today... this will give us some more thing to argue over....

You can bank on that! I wish this guy didn't do these interviews. Every one he does he makes this team look more ridiculous. Freaking Charlie

According to Bob McKenzie the Ducks want young talent for Ryan. I'm thinking a 2013 #1, Strome and deHaan...

Your a professional draft pick expression watcher? So what if he was stunned or upset he is now isles property. Not much he can do about it. Sure he will be smiling when he gets paid with his entry level contract. The logic that posters know info that is basically known by a few people is ridiculous. Its like the people who think Wang was walking around the draft offering picks to the rest of the NHL or that snow who in his entire tenure has held onto all his picks would now turn around and give all of them up for one. Please

has to pay his way...but mayfield paid his own way..i question if he wants to be here, i do i dunno something rubs me the wrong way...he keeps delaying signing an elc...his value as an unknown trading chip might be highest now..dude will be 25 by the time he gets here
- NYI78

Agreed. I got the same feeling when he didn't sign an ELC when Nelson did. If I'm not mistaken, Lee is now in "loophole" territory...after this college hockey season he can wait out that ridiculously short window and become a UFA. Unless that loophole is addressed in the CBA, I'd consider him a trade chip unless there's just so little interest that makes it not worth trading him.

I got a bad feeling about him although I was really high on him for a while. I would think you'd do whatever takes to get here....that said, is it just the Islanders that make these prospects pay their own way?? If so, that's pretty ridiculous.

Flames let Comeau become UFA, where are all the whiners who blasted snow for putting him on waivers, because he had so much value??
- Vukota

here....although you got it wrong...i wasnt upset he was put on waivers, i was upset he wasnt traded the year before when he had value and would have brought something back instead of getting nothing for him IE the same way i feel about PAP

Obviously they weren't looking to trade Comeau at the time. They brought him back the following year and he sucked so they released him. Its not like he wasn't in their plans, he was but he struggled and they moved on. If they cut him after his good season before giving him a chance then you would have a valid argument. As far as PAP goes yeah Snow facked that up big time

exactly the problem...he was absolutely NOT in their plans. if they would have released all the guys that have struggled, the wouldnt be able to put a full team on the ice...

bailey, okposo, grabner, nino, mcdonald.....comeau was no where close to their plans.

How fitting is it that pretty much the two biggest jokes of a franchise are making this crazy headline.

I feel like this is how the convo went. I will put G(arth)/W(ang) to not cause a stir as to whose idea this was on the Isles end.

G/W: Hey Scott, I have a crazy idea.

SH: What is it?

G/W: We're really high on Murray. We are willing to offer you every pick we have in this draft for your first rounder.

SH: I'm sorry, but as a franchise we are committed to improving our defense tonight, as we expect to acquire offensive support in a Nash deal.

G/W: Pleeeeeeeeeeeassseeeeeee?

SH: No.

G/W: Come on its every pick.

SH: FOR THE LAST TIME. NO! MURRAY WILL BE A VALUED PIECE FOR OUR DEFENSE IN THE FUTURE!

G/W: DEFENSE? IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? DEFENSE? HERE! (picks all defensemen with remaining picks) IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT? IS THIS ENOUGH DEFENSE FOR YOU? GOD!

You know what, Scott? You're going to look like the real idiot when this story comes out. You're turning down all of this defense.

SH: You're right. Give me the defense. I need it.

G/W: No. Its my defense and you can't have it.

SH: I need the defense, G/W.

G/W: Should have thought of that 12 hours ago.

SH: G/W CLICK G/W?

Why wouldn't a 25 yr old forward coming off a 25 goal season not be in their plans? The fact that he started the season with them would say otherwise, but either way its old news and im not going to argue with any of you guys anymore, its just tiresome after a while

For all you Isles fans out there... Mr. Chuck Wang is in Toronto today.

He will be in the studio @ 1050 TSN radio today @ 11:30am.

They are going to ask him about the potential trade offer.

So we can get the details from him.

thanks didnt know that rule. I have concerns about him wanting to sign and go the Shultz way and become a UFA. I like this kid and really want him to sign. I think he made a mistake going back to college. Dont believe we will ever see him in the organization.
