I don't really think it's that overblown, he started in the O zone 60%+ and had the easiest opposition of all the guys that regularly played top 9 minutes.
And ya, any of Hall/Ebs/Nuge could outscore Hemsky, I don't debate that in the slightest, I'm saying it's pretty much just as probably that Hemsky outscores any/all of them. - Zombie
I'd take him, not sure I'd move both Gagner and MPS for him though... I'm thinking we could get a little bit smaller names for peanuts when teams move more $$ for July 1.
Michalek and Visnosky were both traded for scraps... it's too bad we couldn't have brought both of them in, our defense would go from bottom 5 to middle of the pack with them.

Doubt Michalek was an option for us and would Lubo have come here again?
But, they run the risk of learning how to lose. In horse racing you never want your thoroughbreds to lose. After awhile they come to think of it as okay and it kills their primitive drive to run ahead of the pack. It is not much different for great young players. These kids have won at every level. At some point in time, perhaps now, you need to be better than a lottery team again or you run the risk of turning into the New York Islanders at midnight.
Note: the Islanders got Visnoskey and that will be very helpful for them. - spatso
Im not sure if horses have the mental capacity to realize the difference between winning and losing those races let alone let the losing affect their drive. All they care about is eating their oats after the race.
I don't know, he never wanted to come here in the first place. - Lahey
Well something was up his craw half the time - I think we all got a little tired of him slumping his shoulders. He seemed a little disinterested at times and perhaps it was to spite Quinn.

Tough call on that proposed deal - management would have to see even more of an upside to Yandle as I found it interesting that his Qual comp, TOI et cetera lessened in the playoffs. It seems Tippet didn't trust him as much as the hype would suggest.
Anyway, I agree on the search for stop-gap dmen for picks/ prospects. I hope Tambo can search those out or that there is a market for that in the coming weeks.

Anyways, my point is less about the specific names and more about the theory of catching other teams salary dumps.
every year for the last 2-3 years good players have been traded for mid range picks, we need to cash in on a few of these.
I'd prefer Vishnoski for a 2nd rounder
over
Gagner + MPS for Yandel - Zombie
I know we'll have to target these salary dumps, but not every salary dump is going to come here. A lot of NTC. I think people need to realize this, not geez we could've had Michalek for peanuts when it was quite obvious he wouldn't come here.

It is quite curious how he had his best statistical year when he faced his highest qualcomp in 10-11, but his possession numbers weren't as good as when he faced easier minutes in 11-12. I guess a high SH% helps that.

I read about that, jesus. - Jack-artist
I don't blame the Isles for making the offer as they ended up picking all (frank)ing d-men which seems stupid, and I don't blame the Jackets for saying no. They can't draft worth a (frank)ing poop. Could've given them 5 1st rounders and they'd stills screw up.
