I don't blame the Isles for making the offer as they ended up picking all (frank)ing d-men which seems stupid, and I don't blame the Jackets for saying no. They can't draft worth a (frank)ing poop. Could've given them 5 1st rounders and they'd stills screw up. - Lahey
To be fair, all those picks from the fourth round on have a small chance of making it, so I guess it's not that crazy. Sounds like a combination of CBJ being deadset on Murray, and not knowing who they would draft otherwise. |

Anyways, my point is less about the specific names and more about the theory of catching other teams salary dumps.
every year for the last 2-3 years good players have been traded for mid range picks, we need to cash in on a few of these.
I'd prefer Vishnoski for a 2nd rounder
over
Gagner + MPS for Yandel - Zombie

There are some great options available for the Oilers today. The kids need to start to win. If not the discouragement starts to set in, play falls off and the ability to attract or deal for top player assets is diminished.
The Oilers need a puck moving Dman who will log 25 minutes a game. To get that player you need to offer up something more than any other team is offering for the same asset. You need to look at Holmgren in Philadelphia and see how he sends good value back for the return he wants. Getting tired of the recycled ideas about trading Gagner, Hemsky, et. al., when the market has said there is no interest.
You need to think you are competing against Holmgren for the asset, which you are, because the also needs a #1 puck moving Dman (Yendle, J.Bo, Boyle). Some of you need to get more creative and think of an offer process in reverse. For example, if one of the big four is traded it appears that Hall might have to be the one. If you trade Hall what is the return you need back? Is Yendle enough? - spatso
How do you know who was being shopped? Which GMs have you been talking to?

Didn't you know? All leaf fans are insiders, that's how they know that everyone in the league wishes they had their prospects. |

I kinda agree, it's just funny. You don't see that in Hockey. |

I wonder if Burke and Feaster are going to throw down over who got the best prospect in the draft. |

The funniest part for me was that it was between the Isles and Jackets. It doesn't seem as far fetched when its one of those teams. |

I am not sure if Edmonton is ready for Nail... He seems to be a social diva... That may work in his favor if he delivers but down the road if he struggles it may bite him in the ass...IMO |

Possibly- but I am just saying there is a fine line with letting the world know your every thought... Like there were tonnes of BS floating around on the radio right after he was selected saying "Oh no not Edmonton" etc... I imagine that was a fake account- but media and society are so glued into tweets- and twisting poop... it could make bad things worse- way way worse... |

Cap reasons alone they should send him back to the O. Let's extend that entry level as long as we can we are going to need the extra cap space down the road. |

Yes, that was a fake account. The writer (who is obviously not Russian) has said it was/is a parody account numerous times.
