I just can't see Lindy and or Darcy winning a cup here, the players have tuned them out and have for awhile now. This whole blog is about opinions and nothing more, some folks just can't see it I guess, not you, just some.
I can't see this team being any better next year unless changes are made. - SABRES 89
I get what you're saying, but change for the sake of change isn't always a good idea either. There has to be a happy medium. I think the changes that have been made so far are going to help, but at the same time, I almost hope the team tanks early so we can get rid of Ruff. That's the only way it's gonna happen. |

Goose, I think 16 yrs of Lindy and Darcy is long enough, cup winning coaches have been fired for less. It's just not working anymore, these players, the system none of it. |

Well, you're never going to get rid of the entire team and coach, so it's kind of pointless to even suggest so. They can tweak the roster, they could fire the coach, but I think part of Lindy still being here at this point is Pegula trying to save face because of his "Lindy ain't goin nowhere" speech.
I like the small moves they've made so far. I think that sets things up well and enables us to be able to make some other moves. I agree that the coach has to go. That would be the thing I want to see most, but I'm also being realistic because I know that's not going to happen. Not this offseason at least. |

love this kid. he reminds me of bure. wants to score, like bure and ovie, but has a better attitude than ovie. he's my vote for the calder.
sorry, cody, you're time will be short in buffalo. you won't be worth the contract your parents will want next year. |

Kings fans said the same thing all year last year.... until they won the cup. - theblueandgold
Besides the coaching change. Our GM grew a pair of ballz and went did some trades. Getting Richards was a risk that may of not worked out. Same goes for Carter even more so.
Honestly though as a Sabres fan myself. Stay the course with what you have. Lets the new kids develop. Keep Roy because he is still your best C. Not the most talented but the Best you have atm. Good things will be coming in Buff. There is so much talent there. This was a good draft for the team. There is some good Dmen coming up that pipeline to. Patience is really where its at. Take it from a Kings fan. Patience. The only issue you guys have now. Is if you want to really make a pitch for a High end talent youll have to give up something like the Kings did. Weather its Grigo or Hodg in a package. But I dont think there is many guys out there to go after. No high end C men on the block. Just Wingers. |

lombardi grows teams with stars. san jose should have won at least one cup. his moves were ballzy but richards is the exact type of player who wins you games in the playoffs. he rubbed off on the other guys. without him and his experience, i don't think the kings have the playoff run they had. i expect both carter and richards to produce more next year. kings won't be an 8 seed next year.

I dont think were an 8th seed either. It seemed the whole team was going through some things. Many players were dealing with stuff. Richards and Carter being traded for the time and a culture change. Doughtys contract and missing training camp. It appears Penner had a broken wrist since last year or some crap. But the same applys to Buffalo really. It seems that team was going through some things. Injuries and what not were a factor. Buff has a good thing going with Lindy behind the bench. |

A nice chunk of our team is Drafted and developed through the organization. Kopi and Brown were both before Lombardi took over. But you guys drafted your Kopi in Grig's hopefully. |

I know everyone hates Roy but I think with another off season to heal that injury and in a contract year for $4 million we might as well keep him until the deadline at least. They haven't been able to give him away in the last two off seasons from the sound of it. If they are a borderline team come February and Roy is having a good season then maybe we get something of value at the deadline. |

Honest opinion, one full season of Foligno, Hodgson and Grigs makes this team from a fringe team to a 6-7 playoff team. Youthful exuberance can do that. Same with the fact that many of the vets will want to rebound from tough seasons (Leino, Miller to name a couple)
That being said, I dont see this being the team we go into September with. Im almost willing to guarantee they acquire one more bigger name player, not to mention address their need for a 4th line C. I think darcy surprises come Sunday |

I think Paul Hamilton's right with what he said this morning. They're not going after a defenseman when the bigger need is at forward. They have a log jam at defense as it is. Not saying they can't improve there, but it doesn't look like they're trying to. |

Suter already said he is not going to any eastern conference teams... atleast Parise we have a small percentage chance of getting...

At one time it was...
Yakuptov, Grigs, Galchenyuk, Murry, and Dumba going in the top 5.. all of which would be NHL ready...
Grigs fell to us because he is not 18.. he is 20..
I think there is a good chance he could make the team... but it just depends on what Darcy's vision is.. If Darcy wants him to take one year in @ Vermont or wherever in order to get Armia, Catenacci, and Sundher all playing in Rochester when Grigs and Girgs gets there to build chemisty then that is the most likely scenario IMO. |

Tough to predict the free agent stuff but I think the Pens have as good a shot as any to land Parise now. A week ago I would have said anybody making that point was crazy. |
