amazing what an elite goalie can do for a team - homiedclown
Also amazing having your top 2 d pairing play 82 games together.
Just saying. |

LOL
idk.. maybe they didn't play an actual season together but did play together in off-season tournaments then because they obviously were on the ice at the same time. - JVince11
I think we can all agree that Sid played 1 year there, 2002-2003.
Parise played NCAA hockey for the University of North Dakota (UND) starting with the 2002–03 season.
The other reason this makes sense is that Parise is 28 and Crosby is 24. Their ages are conducive to missing each other in an interscholastic school setting. |

They were incredibly fortunate on the injury front this year, even more amazing considering the shot blocking whores they were. |

injuries are not an excuse when you allegedly drastically improve your team in the off season, and have your injury call ups easily surpass any realistic expectations |

I have stood in the coaches office and in their weight room for months during my internship there and seen the pictures of them skating up the ice together and congratulating each other after goals with hugs..
I agree with you that it does look like they haven't played a season together.. but they have done something together there... |

Do you want to call me out for being wrong again??
Crosby right in the middle.. Stafford directly under him.. Parise up front. Jack Johnson in there too - JVince11

"A closer look at the names under the photo would make any hockey coach drool.
There’s the baby-faced Ryan Duncan, the 2007 Hobey Baker Award winner, stretched out in the front row. Huddled around the USA Hockey championship banner to the right is Matt Smaby, the hulking defenseman who is in his third year with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Over his shoulder is Buffalo Sabres standout forward Drew Stafford. Jack Johnson, most recently of the silver-medal winning U.S. Olympic Team, crouches nearby, smiling from ear to ear.
The best of friends at Shattuck-St. Mary’s, Jack Johnson, left, and Sidney Crosby have crossed paths on NHL and Olympic ice.
Sandwiched in the tangled web of smiles and index fingers thrust in the air are Brian Salcido and Matt Ford, who are currently playing in the American Hockey League.
And right in the middle of it all is a bright-eyed Sidney Crosby, who won a USA Hockey National Championship long before he captured a World Junior Championship title, captained the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Stanley Cup or raised his hero status to new heights by scoring the golden goal for Canada in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games." |

I was kinda referring to the talking down to a suggestion to make the team compete for a cup in a cap era given our top 4 wingers and the money we have left for the cap |

Adding Suter does not make us "compete for a cup" that easily. We are not just one D-man away from that status. I don't see it.
For all we know Suter has benefited all his career from playing with perhaps the best d-man in the game today Weber next to him.. and he will be the next Wade Redden and be a bust on his next team. |

Suter didn't use Weber as a crutch, he is a great player in his own right. |

So, what happened to all the big moves you thought would be done by EOD Thursday - let alone by the Draft?
Nothing happened!

If Suter is so bad, then how come Ray Shero was trying to acquire his rights from the Predators all weekend? Shero obviously doesn't know talent! |

WTF???? where did i say he was bad... I just said "for all we know"
wow.. I know you must be used to putting foreign objects in your mouth but please don't put words into mine...
Suter is the best UFA on the market and a great D-man.. all i said was that adding him does not automatically make us a legit threat to the cup.. we need more offensive firepower. |
