Out here in Edmonton, I hear a few rumblings from time to time about their interest in Franson.

I'm starting to feel bad for Gillis...playing hardball with Burke, and now it's looking like Luongo will not waive his NTC for anyone other than FLA. Tallon, for his part, has said he WILL NOT part with any of his top prospects to get Luongo, and with Theodore/Clemmensen/Markstrom, he may be in a better position to play hard ball than Burke ever was. Good job Gillis, you Richarded around long enough to eliminate the only real suitor there ever was for RL.

What the hell has Franson ever done that makes Leafs fans swoon over him so much?

Last year, he was 6th for Leafs D in icetime (TOI/G), and was a healthy scratch 25 times.

The year before, he was 7th in TOI/G for the Preds.

Yes, I know he is big. And his 21 points last year really made a big difference.

But seriously, why does everyone have him in the line-up for next year?

He's gone way before Gunnarsson is. And I think Carlyle is going to play Komi before Franson anyways; my guess is he's gone or he sits. Alot.

He's got a great shot. I don't think Franson got the playing time he should have last year. That whole business at the start of the year with him sitting in the press box for 15+ games obviously impacted his stats as well
