naaaaaaaa........ its basically going to be between Leafs, nucks and oil for him. A matter of who is going to promise him the most playing time right away I think.
- faceto27

Leafs - Burke drafted him and Gardiner is there. He has a shot at a starting position.

Vancouver - Legitimate cup contenders. He is from Vancouver (?)

Edmonton - Definite starting position. By far the best crop of young players with which to grow into a contending team.

Sounds like a solid plan, considering that's pretty much all there is on the market...

suter and parise aren't too bad, I mean, if we have to dip that low, I could live with it.

Gardiner getting 20+ minutes per night has to help.

There are a few high end players. But it's not exactly a deep pool of talent this year.

I will take a Prust or TooToo only if the dead weight is gone, I really want to see Kadri and Frattin full time this year first and foremost.

yeah.. thats how i see it

alot of weight to shed before going to the buffet table

if he waits the whole season, he is screwed.
- Barx

1) I do not think he gets any decent value from anyone

2) Schneider is NOT a proven #1 starter, regardless of what Vancouver fans say.

If I am Gillis, I ask for a lot. If I don't get it, I go into the season with both, Scheider as the starter, and see how it plays out.

A significant injury to a team that fancies themselves a contender changes the landscape.

If Schneider does struggle as a starter they may need Luongo... and the window on the Canucks cup hopes is closing as the Sedins get older.

Gardiner being here is a big plus for us......... I'd hazzard to guess that Jake may have phoned his former defense partner to put in a good word for us

Why wouldn't he?? To your point, he'd be surrounded by all that talent and get top pairing minutes, or at least top 4.

Just switch Army with Kulemin .....and trade Mac and a bunch of other crap for that elusive #1 centre and I'm good.

Oh and grab that back up goalie outta Vancity too.

- The Law

Kessel Bozak Lupul
JVR Grabo Kadri
Kule Connolly Frattin
Prust Steckel Brown

Leaves: Army/Lombardi out of the picture....cause I dont think we will be getting a #1C.

I get what your saying......... not saying its not the right thing for Gillis to do, but, there is a big gamble that he is taking. It may work out for him, or it will be his pink slip.

After all, it was Gillis that gave him that riduculous contract to begin with

I'm sure a western Canadian kid can get his head wrapped around that. I see your point, but people say Edmonton is under consideration.

If I'm him the way the Leafs finished last year is a bigger issue and really makes Toronto a non-starter.

the canucks have too many holes in their line-up to compete for a cup, and without the cap room won't be able to plug those holes.
they will do just fine during the season, but don't have the type of leadership that wins cups.
too many whiners, not enough heart and soul guys.
they already hung luongo out to dry and crowned schneider their guy....I doubt they turn back now, especially with after luongo requested a trade. It just further poisons the teams dressing room.

This is the most unbiased, logical post about Luongo and the Canucks Ive read so far.

The way I see it too.
