I dont think its a matter of them needing ryan, I think ryan would add to the offensive talent thats already there, its not going to hurt but only help what they have.. and it he is out there why not take a shot. if they want too much then obviously you dont do the deal ..... I think maybe there are a few options in FA they can go to sure up that 5/6 d spot out there such as Commadore, Rozsival, Wideman, Sarich....... I think they would be foolish if they didnt explore there options..

Ryan would definitely be a benefit, but not so much so that I have to move assets thus weakening the team. Especially if we move a defensemen, then yes we take a step back in a weakness to add to a strength, doesn't make sense.

Then they are right back to where they started Now we gotta go out and get another d-man, and this market is looking more and more like D are gonna be overpaid. Furthermore if Anaheim needs D, why should they move Ryan when they have plenty of cap-space and can get one through UFA without losing Ryan? SO what he says he's unhappy, too bad, guess what it is called Pro-sports, you get traded from time to time and the media generates rumors involving your name. Especially when you are a good player and you have ties to another team. His feelings are hurth oh well boo hoo, shut up, play and get your 5 million dollars.

These scenarios being presented make no sense whatsoever. If Anaheim needs to move him that bad, then a one for one swap otherwise you're overpaying and lately it looks like the Flyers overpaid in one deal doing multiple deals like that is flat out foolish.

Flyers didn't over pay for poop. Just because everyone in here seems to think JVR had tremendous value, it's pretty obvious he wasn't valued by other franchises as much as the posters in hockeybuzz.

Im respectfully dissapointed with the amount of people willing to trade Mezzy. Thatd be a huge mistake in my mind. Best shot from thr blueline by far on the team. And the breif period of time he was healthy with Grossman was when Bryz looked his best. Id refluctantly give up MAB but anyone else would basically make JVR for Schenn trade useless.

If they did Voracek, Ford, and 1st I would personally drive Jake to the airport! How do you not do that deal. Bobby Ryan is extremely gifted and because he wants out, Anaheim isn't simply going to give away 150+ goals over the last 5 years for free.

glad you're not the Gm. Voracek and a second rounder is my max. We need depth on defense, don't know what's gonna happen with Timonen, is he gonna be good to go or half himself or somewhere in between. If he's anything less than his full self then we need to hold onto what we have. We already have to either re-sign Carle or bring in someone else.

In what world do 5 time 30 goal scorers get traded for a guy that has never reached 20 goals and is only 1 year younger? Come on dude. Use your brain. I get it, we like our team, but Voracek and a 2nd is a pathetic deal and would never happen. You want a 5 time 30 goal scorer, even if he wants out? Your going to have pay because that is a special commodity.

The fact that they are looking at Ryan is obvious that they don't want Jagr back. Homer has been pretty clear he will make a decision that is "best for the team." They have now lost a first line winger and a second line winger. I do think that Homer is concerned about offense and I think there is a guy in free agency that Homer likes and is confident he will get. Now, I love Mezzy as much as anybody, but if he is asked for to acquire a consistent 30 goal winger to pair with Giroux... then you make that move (under the assumption Homer knows how to fill that role). An older guy, like Adrian Aucoin, who would sign a 1 year deal is perfect.

I don't have to dismantle my team do get him. Furthermore offense isn't an issue with this team, they score enough goals. Want a 30 goal scorer go get one FA without giving up pieces. Whether it's a pathetic deal is irrelevant, the Ducks have an unhappy player that doesn't want to play elsewhere but philly, they aren't in a position to ask for a fair deal.
