PRV, Gagner(save it), Ternary, Klefbom, Rieder, next years first, Hemsky to name a few. Can't see Petry, Whitney or Smid being offered unless its a bonafide top pairing coming back.

We have assets, both roster and prospect. Just doubtful that our impotent GM will do anything other than continue stockpiling picks.

But that's because Esplen's blogs suck Jokes, but I dislike his blogs. I think it's just because he blogs for the Canucks. I hate 90% of things involved with the Canucks.

As much as I would love JayBo, that Lubo deal I think plummeted the value Feaster is gonna get for him. They had very comparable years stats wise but Lubo I believe had a MUCH better +/- and has a better cap hit. The only thing going for JayBo is his age but I don't see Feaster getting a first rounder back for him and I don't think he wants to give him to us for lets say a 2nd rounder and one or two small pieces ie. a Rieder or Marincin.

Yes whether he wants to admit it or not he will have to start rebuilding and shedding those NTC contracts...if I'm our dunder head GMs I'd start with next years second rounder and go from there...2013 second round pick and maybe one of our forward prospects as a start...

With they way the teams were drafting dman it appears to be a position of great demand in the league. Becuase there is posibly a shortage of true top pairing guys available, it might be better to try and do a defence by committee where all the dman play equal or close to equal amounts of time.

It is likely 5 monthes before opening night. Why rush it? Three defencemen moved this weekend. The top talent in that group takes the odd month off, Michalek isn't top 4 by the time this group is ready to make a push and I don't know that Schenn fits into our top 4 right now.

If I were an Oiler fan I'd hope that Katz wasn't the one that made the Yakupov pick. Once the owner starts meddling and thinks they know hockey or whatever sport, things tend to get messed up fast...

Not that I disagree with what you said, but as an owner you would think you could only stand idley by for so long. That being said, if he did in fact do what is rumored, it may be time to question the people he is paying in those positions.
