What about Mark "the Janitor" Jankowski - Oil Tycoon
You mean the best player in the draft? Oh right!
Honestly don't mind if you take a project player but when you have players like Girgensons, Teravainen, etc on the board still, why take a big risk when you have only 1 A level prospect. I'm a believer in quality over quantity. They should've moved up if this draft was considered thin, not down. |

He is a complete project already said by all the TSN analyst. The biggest remark was Pierre McGuire said he is playing in a league where is not known well compared to all the other prospects playing to prepare themselves for the draft. He got 94 points in his own league, wonderful for the kid, but when compared to others in the draft playing in other more respectable leagues, Jankowski has a long way to go and I like to see if he played per say the same league as Yakupov, Reinhart, Subban, etc. He probably won't be a 94 point player. CGY took a high risk, high potential reward prospect. |

Feaster said because CGY didn't have a 2nd round pick, he wanted to get that piece back and that's another reason he traded down, also considering maybe they were targeting Jankowski and know he will be around by then. I say CGY should have traded down even more because no team was probably going to pick the kid.
Ive always been vehemently against dealing prv because of his potential and one of the only skilled forwards with size we have.
But if its for a guy like yandle, i dont think we'd have much of a choice - hugefemale dog77
I would consider trading PRV+ for a top 4 d-man. EDM can't trade Gagner, nobody to replace him, ideally trade Hemsky, but no cigar because he ain't worth much now. So PRV+ is good. |

When the organizations goal is to get the first overall pick each year it pretty obvious they ain't winning anytime soon. Tambellini is a doorknob and has no idea what he's doing. Feaster is at least half sane and shows that he is committed to winning and believes in his team - TheFactor

only reason why they moved up is because we didnt have a 2nd rounder. we need as many picks as we want, also they had thier eyes on jankowski since late last year so they knew who they were drafting long before the draft itself |

The thing is Flames need prospects NOW, not in 5-7 years when this kid MIGHT be NHL ready. Calgary is in no position to be taking this big of a gamble on a first round pick with their prospect pool so thin and an aging core. |

Feaster is is gambling on a prospect when your prospect depth consists of Baertschi and not much else. Erixon was lost, Backlund looks like nothing special at all.
You have Iginla, Kiprusoff, Jokinen, Cammaleri, Giordano and Bouwmeester and STILL manage to miss the playoffs and have the gall to come in here and mock the Oilers? LOL. Hope you enjoyed your most recent just-out-of-the-playoffs finish, because the only two guys who lend your team any hope are getting older every year.
Mock our draft lottery finishing all you like. We'll be sure to drop you a line when our forwards are lighting your sad sack team up like a Christmas tree for the next 10 years. |

What I don't get is if Feaster decided to trade down from 14th to 21st to acquire an additional pick why not do that once more to acquire another pick? Instead of going completely off the board at 21 and not maximizing the assets that he has. |

That's what I think too, because of that aging core CGY needs to get someone in quicker and faster to play with Baertschi, Backlund, Bouma, Brodie, Irving, Aliu, etc.

Exactly what I thought for selecting Jankowski. Maybe somewhere 25-27, since someone said NYR was also in for Jankowski. |

Yakupov maybe next. I don't know did CGY ever replaced Regehr. He always had the chance to lay it on Hemsky, but now with Eberle and Yakupov and Hemsky...CGY needs a good shutdown guy. Don't know has Sarich really took on that role well. |
