Basically true. there are a decent amount of 4-7 Dmen. 1 or 2 #2, or potential #2 guys. The team needs a tried and true #1.

Only thing with trading for Lou is that you have to deal with his contract until he retires. Chances are he does not get traded again. Even now teams seem hesitant to trade for him. Imagine trying to get rid of him in 3 years when he is 36, and his play has most likely regressed.

His contract is a tough pill...I do think he is worth the hit for the next 3-4 years out of the next 6 which are the worst of the contract.

He dramatically improves the G situation in Edm, and that improvement may be the thing that tips the scales in favour for Edm to get on the other side of the hump of making the Oil into a contender.
