I generally like JVR, but one thing I won't miss is his play in his own end.

yeah, he got to the point where he was stapled at the end of gms. I remember lavi throwing him out there a few times laught in gms and I would hold my breath.

I honestly think they moved jvr because they think they have a real shot a getting parise

I personally think we could have got move for JVR is we wanted to be patient and develop some draft picks or by packaging him with other youth. But it was a decent straight up trade and Schenn can end up developing into one heck of a defenseman.

I'm sure the Flyers will make a strong push for Parise.

1. JVR was a poor defensive forward in a corps of poor defensive forwards. (One thing that bothers me about all the giddy Ryan talk is how he apparently is not that great backchecking either)
2. Grossman really improved our D, and increased the confidence of Bryz, and Coburn played particularly well paired with Grossman. Schenn might have a similar influence on Meszy
