It is clear now that Linus Omark has 0 value in a trade. I guess he is just going to go back to Sweden or Russia - dallas717
Don't tell Pilgor that. |

Nick Ebert and Anton Slepyshev are just in free fall, would like to see Edm get a 7th to pick up one of these guys. |

Immediately after Yakupov was drafted, Eklund said that the Oilers will trade him and that the Oilers and Islanders have an agreement in place...
Yup...

Yakupov for Calder...
He'll get to play with one of (maybe two of) Hall/Eberle, and/or RNH. I bet he gets around 30 goals in his rookie season. |

Yup... He said there's no way they'll keep him, because the Oilers barely talked to Yakupov and his family before the draft started. It's on his hockeybuzz draft show...
I think it's around 20 minutes in...

- I know its been covered but I honestly cant believe how stupid Feaster is. If I was a flames fan I would be calling for his head.
- Im pretty sure the caps are trying to make me hate them, why would they pick up Ribeiro? Hes the closest thing to a soccer player in the nhl.
- I would say buffalo won the draft, Grigs is exactly what they needed.
- And one last point, Oilers definitely could of gotten carolinas pick for gags. (lets hear it haters but look what they gave up for staal.) |

I doubt they would have gotten that pick for Gagner. Staal's value is much, much higer than Gagner's. |

I agree which is why they also got Sutter. In the end Im glad they didnt. I was hoping tambi woulda traded for that 20th pick and stole Maata but he was probably in the can. |

God..how does he sleep at night?
And why did you actually listen to Eks draft show? |

Was there a different draft I wasn't aware of? Because the one I watched showed the Penguins giving away Jordan Staal. One of the Top 10 centers in the NHL, if you believe people who comment on my blogs. - Maxbone
sorry bro... but if I'm carolina, I don't trade the 8th, sutter and doumalin for yak... Shero, working with the league knowing he had his back to the wall, got equal, to potentially better value for staal. plus the cap space not paying him 6 mil a year opens up. |

I didn't listen to it while the draft was on. I saw it there after the 1st round had ended, and I wanted to hear what silliness they had to say about Yakupov. |

He's worth a mid first round I believe, and not a top 10. Who knows really. I just hope he steps up his game this year. Gets better in the dot, learns to play better defence, and finally adds some consistency to his game. Although that may be too much to ask. |

Gagner was much better on the dot last year and has improved his defensive game almost every year. IMO, he would be worth a 8-12th overall pick on the market.
I think he's poised to have a very good year for us though so I hope we don't trade him for defensive help. Horcoff can't be a #2 C anymore he is a better fit on the 3rd. |

Dan Tencer @dantencer
Zharkov a very confident player. He just told @EdmontonJack that he thinks he can be better than Yakupov.
Dan Tencer @dantencer
Zharkov at 91 is an awesome pick...Central Scouting had him at 32. Big forward with excellent speed and skill. Great snag. - Oil Tycoon
I lost any value coming from Tencer/Stauffer yesterday when they preached that their sources told them the 1st overall pick would be "Ryan Murray". Goes to show how reliable their sources are and how reliable the info they are passing on to their readers really is.

I just think the Penguins could have received a better immediate player than Brandon Sutter. - Maxbone
sutter, when taking into account true team needs (i.e. true third line center) is a much better player for the pens then... i don;t know... gagner! |

Agreed on Horcoff. I think putting him on the 2nd line would really kill the offensive flow of his wingers. |
