I maintained for years that we would feel the pain from the JFJ era for at least 5 years after he was gone.

I was hoping I was wrong, now, in hindsight, unfortunately I was right.

- GoneFullRetard

We felt that pain during JFJ's reign too...

Love what Washington did and Buffalo and Tampa may have huge upsides from their first round this year also.

not trading colborne or kadri
- LEAFSfan28191

Colborne, really?

Man I see no potential for anything significant there whatsoever.

Colborne and Ashton will be an exceptionally average tandem in the AHL for a few years, not many.

"We had this player (Rielly) rated first overall. I wouldn't say that if it wasn't true just to build up the pick. But this is a guy, had we had the first pick in the draft, we would've taken him.

i hate that burke made this comment. major face palm moment!

Rask would be our goalie and Reimer would be backing him up...

You're just the surly (frank)er how needs to log-off and sleep it off.

Too many people telling others what to do around here... the whole point is to share opinions..

doesn't have to get insulting every time people disagree.. pretty sad state..

What is worse is he shouldn't have even selected him at 5th...

Goes in the same category as all the other sports cliches you hear every day.

This one was at the more ridiculous end of the scale though.

Yes, we agree on that. Expect it to continue. Burke has 1 year left to do something. Its all borrowed time for him now.
- triggermartin

I don't want Lu. That's the reasoning behind the terrible trade proposal.

MLSE will resign him, no doubt.

Cannons out the ass kenneth, out the ass!!

If I'm not mistaken, those were, more specifically "(franking) cannons out the ass".

Some legitimate hockey people stated that Rielly could easily have been a top 3 pick if not for his injury.

It's a very good pick, I know the possibility of a top forward seems more attractive considering need and the spot you were selecting from but Rielly will be a very good player.

Oscar Dansak for our next pick an all will be forgotten
- bebsleafs

Agreed. I really think grigorenko was the steal in the draft for buffalo, though forsberg i thought for sure burke was going to take.... shocked me but there has to be a reason why both grigorenko and forsberg went 11th and 12th and the other teams after the leafs didnt take them which was puzzling as well oh well the scouts know better than us apparently, cant wait to see how all of this pans out and whos the better prospect when we had the chance to acquire forsberg or grigorenko this draft.

Burke? Re-signed? LOL. The guy's a dead man walking.

As for Lu, I don't want any part of him either. But bank on it. He'll be here.

Like I said may times Lu for Schenn

Schenn out Reilly in No salary dumps thanks.

- VANTEL

Once again, the Canucks will be taking back salary in order for this to work.

There is next to 0 market for Luongo. Slowly, but surely all of those teams that Canucks fans thought could be viable trading partners for Luongo are disappearing:

- TB = Lindback
- CLB = Bobrovsky
- NYI = Is not taking on Luongo while DiPietro is still on the books
- FLA = Content with tandem that won division? Best G prospect, Markstrom
- CHI = Haven't given up on Crawford. Gillis loathes to deal Luongo there
- WIN = Waiting on Pavelec situation

Oh, and Thomas appears to be back on the market today!

Forsberg is a tough decision to make in my opinion, but grigorenko... iunno could be a really good player. Had a good season in the Q league, if he gets better, we look like the idiots taking rielly
